Fantastic win (apparently).
That's a month without defeat - are you envious, ManCity??
Only 2 defeats in 10 weeks.

Great win, great display, not sure I agree with the substitutions, but hey ho. At the time Robinson was taken off for Gallagher, poor Matti was running on fumes. It would have made more sense to me to play Gallagher where Robinson was playing and Robinson on the wing. Then to take off Bartley who was in contention for M.O.M., unless he was injured which I did not see? We don't have a game for 10 days so it can't be to rest him, I thought Furlong had a blinder as well.

Probably the best performance of the season.

First half we came out all guns blazing and despite being robbed by VAR, continued to get at them and play some excellent attacking football. Scored 2 good goals and should've had more.

2nd half Southampton stepped onto us and we didn't have the quality to get out at times. They completely overran us, but we were dogged defensively. Southampton on that form are one of the best pressing sides in the division, so it was pleasing to see that we held out and saw the game off.

We're way too far behind to stay up, but it's good to see us getting our identity back and looking like we belong. Does make you wonder 'what if' had we been able to get the new players in at the start of January though.

Are Barcelona playing in blue and white stripes? Wtaf is going on? Did anybody else see the one touch passing and how many times we reverse back heeled passed the ball and it almost consistently worked in our favour. The ball seemed to stick to our guys like shite to a blanket. The new signings are all genuinely up for this but Bartley Johnstone and particularly furlong as mentioned played an absolute blinder. Where has this all suddenly come from Johnstone pen save absolutely everything clicking finally. It’s absolutely maddening cos it still looks like a bridge too far but the pride is being restored and the football is a joy to behold. I’m starting to believe which is only gonna end in tears I fear or tears for fears even lol! But we are now the in form team of the entire bottom half.

If only we had a longer run in. This is great form but we have a horrid run in (as do Newcastle).

What chance of us winning 3 more than then in the next 7.

Well I guess more chance than two weeks ago. But Newcastle also drew and won their games ?

I agree it seems unlikely but Brighton and Burnley aren’t out of this either yet and like I said the form over the last 6/7 matches is very interesting

Just checked and we are 6th in the form table over last 6 matches w3 d1 l2

I just don't see it. We need to get 9 more points than Newcastle and 10 more than Burnley and Brighton. I know we just went two games undefeated but where do we get 3 if not 4 wins from - forgetting that the others only need to win a few:

Leicester (a)
Villa (a)
Wolves (h)
Arsenal (a0
Liverpool (h)
West Ham (h)
Leeds (a)

Getting enough points out of those games is as likely as....
..... ooooo - winning 5-2 at Chelsea?!

Didn't watch the match because I was working but was very chuffed to see the full-time score. Even better reading that the first half was very good.

There is still a slither of a chance to stay up but I think this form has been left too late. We needed this attacking intent against Palace and Newcastle.
