We should've scored at least 1 more in the 3rd quarter when we were SO much on top.
(cracking 2nd goal of theirs tho).

Thought we were fully deserving the win really, although t'was great to see Barnsley score their 2nd!
We just never do it the easy way do we - maybe that makes it better in a strange way.
"NURSE"!!

I think that'll forever be remembered as the Great Escape of promotions. Are Brentford Albion in disguise? Honestly, these last four matches are a warning shot across the bow of how badly we need to strengthen in the coming off-season (and I can't be the only one who noticed Bilic having a quiet word in the ear of that QPR lad who equalised after the full time whistle), but naturally, tonight's all about celebrating. Over the course of the full season we did deserve this, so congratulations to Slav and the boys.

Well maybe I'll get a good night sleep for the first night in a while tonight, until I start thinking about facing Liverpool and Man Shitty next season, or in a couple of weeks which ever you prefer. Boing Boing

Ska’d’s first match preview from the start of the season - rollercoaster indeed

And so it begins again. Less than three months after last year's frustrating campaign came to a frustrating end, Albion have a lot of new faces around the club, not least in the dugout, as Slaven Bilic throws his cap in the ring to try and sort out the ongoing shambles. His early noises all seem to be about not getting carried away, but whether that's a grim assessment of the problems behind the scenes or simply a deft bit of expectation management before we get down to firing on all cylinders, it's too early to tell.

We will, at least, have some inkling of what awaits after Saturday evening, when we visit the City Ground to take on Forest. Last year's trip was eighty minutes of mediocrity followed by an absolute whirlwind at the end which might have seen us snatch a win, only to settle for a 1-1 draw. The same result this time round would be a decent start to the season in the circumstances, but as ever, our fortunes for the months ahead won't be defined by the very first game. It'll simply be a small taster of just how exciting and sickening this year's rollercoaster is likely to be.

I couldn’t bear to watch it, I’ll be honest. Took myself out at 7.30 for a two hours walk in the forest above Peebles, no texts or messages, just walked. Asked Joe, my son, who watching the game to call me when it was over. During those two hours I imagined every permutation, even the unlikely possibility of Brentford losing. Was I glad to get that call at 9.30. Brilliant! I hear comments about crawling over the line - boll*cks! After 46 games if you’re 2nd, you deserve to go up. Thank you fellow Baggies for all the banter this season, it’s been emotional!!
