September by my reckoning whether they will finish this season is anybody’s guess

If they can start a new season they can finish this one first, take a break and start again. Other than contracts currently finishing in June (which isn't really that hard to fix) it may mean after the World Cup that we all plan for a half or 3/4 season to get back on track, but at least everyone knows when we start what the plan is and how the leagues will be won/lost relegation/promotion issues sorted etc.

The FA and their ilk can't look or plan further than the end of their bulbous blood red noses at the moment, then again, most of them are of an age where long term planning means ordering the next G & T before they drain the current one. Smartass

What I don't really get anymore is how the FA can overrule the Leagues in deciding if they want to finish the competition or not. I know they are supposedly the overseeing body but quite honestly, apart from a Cup that the Prima Donna League clubs don't get serious about until the semi-finals and running the International sides, what did the FA ever do for us? Apart from fine us a huge wedge for wearing a kit they didn't like while paying lip service to racism and all the other bollox that's really far more important.

Slice of lemon or lime in your G & T sir? 1 ice cube or 5? Shaken or stirred?

Someone from UEFA was on earlier saying that it would be very difficult for UEFA to admit clubs who's league hadn't been completed to their competitions. Non-completion would likely lead to non-qualification, also could be seen that teams would not qualify if league voided.

Somehow, the leagues have to be completed it seems.

Fair point Hibee - I just don't see how they can run a competition at all if all the leagues/FA's across Europe throw the towel in. Likewise they can't start their next load of OOFA leagues until they also finish the current one.

Can I just say. I think it's disgusting what Spurs have done. All the money they've got and they've furloughed their non playing staff. Meaning the tax payer has to pay them 80% of their wages instead of the multi billionaire owner of the club.
Meanwhile the players are still being paid in full. Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick with this, bit it's a shitty stinking stick. Angry

100% agreed Snoots. Yes, football clubs employ way more than the 20 or so folk on the pitch and in the 'dug-out' every Saturday (not sure some folk realise this though) but the folk Levy has put on furlough probably account for less than 20%, maybe less than 10% of the Spurs wage bill, even if there are hundreds of them. He probably pays a couple of players more per week than he pays out in wages to many of those staff put together.

It's there to support SME's but there are plenty of bigger companies with zillions in the bank (if it isn't squirrelled away in a Cayman Islands Bank Account) who are doing the same thing.

We've put a load of folk on it this week, but at least the company is topping up the other 20% for those who will be getting a lot less than the max £2500 per month and also to a good few that will get that amount. Our directors have all agreed to a pay cut too. Some of them have also been put on furlough if their dept. has effectively all gone onto it.

Meanwhile, I get sent to Coventry everyday (more or less).

Because I am a key worker with asthma and diabetes who can't work from home, I am taking 12 weeks off unpaid. It's not ideal financially but I tried working for the first 2 weeks and didn't feel safe. I know what it's like to be on a ventilator and I never want to again. Other than that, Snoots and I are still getting on. Celebrated our 34th anniversary on Sunday. We were planning a trip to Jose's Tapas in Wakefield but that boat sailed.

How's everyone else?
