Irvine and his future.

Well after to-days efforts he has to go. 2-0 up cruising,Morrison then bear hugs one in the box, gets his just desserts. What WAS he thinking infront of the ref,it gave QPR a little impetous to have a go, and boy did they .Why on earth did he not bring on Mulumbu and Yacob when we were being so over run.No excuses for me Irvine is out of his depth. It is with great regret but he'sgot to be fired.

I hope Saido Berahino punched Morrison when the players got back to the dressing room.

I hope that, at the very least, JP is drawing up a short list of possible replacements.

There's no point in sacking Irvine and then waiting 3 or 4 weeks while we draw up a short list and arrange interviews.

If JP does do that again then we may as well be relegated.

Hopefully JP will also P45 Downing and Kiely.

Any new man needs to bring his own team in.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

I by no means want Irvine sacked but if it does happen during this season, I agree that Peace definitely has to have targets already in mind. Even if Irvine stays at the club for another 3 years, Peace still needs a list of possible replacements for when the time comes.

The past 3 appointments have taken about 6 weeks each to be completed. One of our most successful appointments in recent times, Roy Hodgson, took under 1 week to be completed with Di Matteo sacked on the 6/2/2011 and Hodgson appointed on the 11/2/2011. It is that planning ahead that the club has seemingly lacked since Ashworth departed.

Even though I hate his style of football, there's an obvious replacement available now that would keep us in the league.

I think everyone probably knows who I am talking about...

Having said that, under Irvine we play terrible football and are heading out of the league. So I'd take him in a heartbeat at least until the summer and move on.

However, I guess when we eventually sack Irvine, we'll have weeks of Downing messing around and then pick someone completely untried at Premiership level (again) and hope that they have a clue. And probably the candidate that we should be looking at will be at Hull or Leicester.

...I think that most people are forgetting that TP got Palace playing very good football last year when achieving The Even Greater Escape. With the players we have in our squad I could see him doing even better Thumb up

Obviously it won't EVER happen - JP + TP?? You're 'avin' a giraffe Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh

The trouble is that we, as a club, are making ourselves more and more unattractive to any worthwhile coach, by continually hiring then sacking HCs as we have in the last 4 years - unless we give someone a longer term 'project' ( Blush ) and a very good contract. Again - doesn't sound very much like JP does it Sad

Its so frustrating cause the squad in my opinion is more than strong enough to be around the top 10 comfortably but this season is looking like a complete write-off yet again and if Irvine is kept in charge i honestly think he'll take us down but surely Peace will act, like i've said before though what my biggest worry is that he may well look at Swansea and see how well Monk has done since stepping up and think Downing could do a similar job Doh As for Pulis i'd take him no problem Palace played some decent stuff under him and i'm sure he could do it at the Albion he has worked with a Director of football at Stoke so i don't think our set up would be a real stumbling block the only person who could scupper it is Peace who loves a yes man and with Pulis he won't get that
