Close to what the E & D stated - I'm sure we will be hearing we give our youngsters a chance to impress.

Very much a team picked to protect first team.

I do fear we could get a real hiding tho... Time to see how good Harper and Field really are in that midfield.

We will certainly know a bit more about our youngsters after this one.

It's a bit unfair - nobody puts out a completely different team against a side from a division higher and expects several of the young players to instantly perform like they belong in the PL. Too many times when these thrown together teams lose and then it gives a perfect excuse as to why the youngsters have not been given a run in the first team. I'm not sure who they are trying to convince or justify the selections - the fans, the players or themselves? Huh
Brighton normally play 5 across midfield - Against our 3 we may well be struggling.

Both teams are playing with 5 midfielders, 1 defensive, 2 central and 2 wingers, so it’s a case of which can control the match and create more. On paper Brighton’s is better but we have younger legs.

0-0 so far.

Why play mears that's a terrible choice but he's mates with moore ..
I can see the point of playing youngsters but if that's the case then Tosin should have gone to RB and Fitzwarter should have been given a chance Angry

Well my fears of us getting mauled are over, as Brighton don't look a lot of good to be honest, despite having a fair share of their first XI playing.

They are the team who look most likely to score, but they aren't posing a massive threat.

As for us, we're doing okay. Some negatives and some positives.

The main negative is that we look absolutely toothless up top. No central striking figure at all. Leko picked up some good positions but just doesn't seem to have any belief when it comes to the final finish. We're getting plenty of decent territory but can't seem to get beyond tip tapping around at the edge of the box. At times I'd like to just fire a ball across and see what happens, as we don't seem to have the guile to convert the tip tapping into any chances.

From a positive point of view, we're not getting overran in midfield like I expected. Field doing a really good defensive job in there covering Harper and Edwards who don't appear to have a defensive bone in their body between them. Hoolahan getting back and helping them out as well, which is vital to keep things tight. The main positive is the performance of the 2 centre backs, Adaraboiyo in particular looks so much better in that position.
