“Giles Barnes is back training with West Bromwich Albion - but it’s understood that Baggies head coach Darren Moore merely doing his old teammate a favour by providing him with the facilities to maintain his fitness.”

It’s just like Halford, Richardson, Cranie, Reo-Coker etc.

So were Hoolahan and Mears

To be fair, I think Hoolahan could be a very useful addition; Mears not so much Big Grin . Ashley Barnes would make Fobson-Kanu look like Alan Shearer

Hoolahan was signed after a formal trial at the club. He was playing for a contract rather than just maintaining fitness like Barnes will be.

Mears had neither a trial or fitness training. He was signed because Darren knows him well.

Darren should have signed better younger players before he was lumbered with players other teams recognised were ready for retirement.
Because the club messed about for weeks in the summer window. I'm afraid Darren needs to show Jenkins his b*****s - if Darren is not getting
any backing he may as well walk away, as it's just a downhill ride.

WBA enquire as to Isaac Hayden availability, but NU not keen on releasing him atm. Although he would be a good addition at the right price - I see Field / Harrper / Edwards / Leko looking elsewhere if they get further restricted chances. Never easy keeping everyone happy.

Newcastle have turned down our approach for Hayden. A midfield partner for Livermore is needed and Hayden is a good player. I’d rather have Cheick Doukouré from Levante but as we know Darren is all about signing British players so Hayden fits his preference.

Just found out Leicester have to recall Barnes by the end of Monday at the latest so WBA if he goes will no where they stand for the rest of the window
All lines to Leicester have now been cut until Tuesday Angry

OUT GOING on loan
Rekeem Harper, Sam Field and Jonathan Leko
I'm disappointed Darren see's no game time for them - if I was any of them I would be looking for a new club.
With Harper contract up for renewal it could be a sly move to ship them out and get some additional funds in?
If any are sold we will know where we stand - its a wait and see again.

So Darren’s open to loaning out Harper, Field and Leko. Field and Leko out on loan makes sense because they’ve barely played in the first team this season and their growth is being stunted because of it.

I’ll be disappointed if Harper goes out on loan because without Livermore, we have no one who can play his role in the team. Barry, Brunt and Morrison don’t exactly have the legs or energy to play the role.
