Thanks to Twitter for the images. Couldn't find anything on you tube.

1st one, no body is doubting that Mounié caught him chasing the ball, but was he out of control? Hardly. Did the wimp limp until the final few minutes when he was eventually hauled off, nah. You were conned ref and you couldn't get that card out fast enough. No discussions with your mates at all.

Needless to say, Linekar and his pathetic mates don't agree with Wagz.

I think its rather telling that we qre having to discuss the reffing over the game itself.

Personally I felt that after the goal we got a bit slack and sloppy on the ball, instead of standing on their throat we were amazed we had got such an early lead and let them back into it.

After the red card we should have had a penalty but we dont know what would have happened, for their first goal we switched off completely expecting it put into the box, failed to read the short corner and then subsequently the new angle of cross.

Second half we were too negative and never looked like scoring, I cant really remember their keeper having to do much at all.

Their second goal we were asleep again. No one picking up their man and andone got a free run across the near post. Once they got the lead it was over, surprised oliver didnt blow for full-time there and then.

One thing I will say and people will probably disagree, but wagners subs and mindset after the red card were rubbish to say the least, really poor management.

For me I'd have taken flo off (I still struggle to see what he offers, cant tackle, cant cross) and put lolo on for him, gone 4-3-2/4-3-1-1 that way we still have attacking options. Then midway through the second half I would have replaced pritch with mbenza to offer a pacey option, look at how iziguedo caused our defence problems with his pace. Your final sub is then dependent on the situation

Mounie- Red card all day long. Nowhere near the ball, studs showing and contact is made. As has already been said he doesn't have to cripple the player for it to be a red card. It was poor judgement by Mounie and he's let his team down, not only for Saturday but the next 3 matches I suspect.
Pritchard- Penalty....no chance. Bloody lightweight and throws his legs hoping to con the ref.
Possible Brighton red card- spot on by the ref, booking.

As for the game itself. Great start and rapidly went down hill. We didn't press, it was mostly going towards our goal although admittedly they didn't do much with it other than a miracle block by Hogg. Needed half time desperately when they all switched off for the short corner.
Wagbo subs....bizarre! discussion at half time about taking Pritchard off and replacing him with LDP, no we wait until the 47th minute to wind the clock down. by the way did LDP touch the ball? The lad is fatter now then when he arrived at the club. Subbing Mooy, what was that about? The one creative player we have we take off for a defender...yes I get the shut up shop policy but that left us up the creek without a paddle as soon as we went behind.

What's happened to all these wingers we've got at the club? Half of them can't even make the bench, VLP has gone missing for some reason. We were crying out for a player who can carry the ball away from our goal on Saturday and he's the player who can do it....what's he done wrong.

Very disappointing overall. Great start but then didn't take full advantage.
Mounie......yellow for me, but we've all seen those tackles being given a red before. Main point here is that he has to be blamed for giving the ref a decision to be made. If his touch had been better there wouldn't need to be a challenge.
Pritchard....definite penalty. Yes he made the most of it but look at the pic of where the ball was and he was being held back. Look at Spurs' Son penalty. A more blatant dive you will never see.
Durm tackle....I've seen red's given for those tackles....but overall think it was a yellow.

Wagner's subs really are baffling at times. I've said many times on here that he seriously lacks a good plan B. We've all seen him put Hefele as a centre forward when chasing a game. This time he takes off Mooy for a defender, and takes off Pritch for LDP in the 47th minute? Weird.
Brighton as we saw last week struggle against 10 men as Leicester showed them. But they looked comfortable against our 10.
Our performances were chalk and cheese v Wolves and Brighton. Disappointing.

Wagz has to calm down. Never seen him that angry before. Yes the ref was shit but we can't just go to pot when we have a man sent off. He needs a proper back up plan. It was the same against Cardiff. We were holding on for dear life then.
His after match interviews were all alike refusing to talk about anything other than the ref. Not good, David. We've had worse refs than this before. Oliver himself had a much worse game down at Watford last season, but we were happy enough because the majority of his mistakes went our way.  Whistle

As for the homophobic chanting. Didn't hear it myself, but if it's true, what an absolutely stupid thing to do on Rainbow Laces Day.
