Its a simple game is football that involves winning by scoring goals, unfortunately scoring goals is not a new problem at Town
Promotion season just 56 goals from 46 matches
Last Season 28goals from 38 matches.

The problem has been staring us in the face for over 2 years and we didn't buy a proven, recognised striker in the summer. Now we MUST buy a striker in January if we have any ambition of retaining our PL place but this will come at a cost..
1) January transfer window means inflated prices for players especially as other clubs know we are desperate
2) The signing of a new striker will mean 3 players competing for 1 place in the team and assuming that means LDP and SM are dropping to the bench it means SM who was bought as someone who we hoped would improve and sell for a profit would be sat on the bench and become a depreciating asset

So I didn't fall asleep during the game, I did for the manure game earlier in the day. It looked to me like a standard Huddersfield town performance, great endeavour and energy, passion on and off the pitch, but reach the final third and we become clueless, we just have no idea whether to run at defenders, pass, cross or shoot and ultimately make the wrong decision and go backwards or lose the ball. Its one of them where we arguably miss an izzy brown or kasey palmer sort of player, not them exactly but that sort. Every where else we seem fine on most occasions.

Another thing from Saturday is that mbenza is quick but he aint no wing back. Keep him up field. Diakhaby is pretty much an enigma of a player, couldn't control a ball against Leicester but had a brief cameo that looked positive. Maybe against Fulham we should play both and see what happens.

Also interested to see if williams and sobhi returning could offer a bit of a change too. Williams could be a more attacking version of hogg.

As for your point about sm becoming a depreciating asset if we got another striker. Yes he could but that would be due to a bad attitude and lack of desire to earn and keep his place for me
