I really despise how goalkeeping has become. When I was younger and playing I was taught to always catch and if it isn’t possible then parry or punch the ball away from danger. Nowadays (I now sound like an old man) it is seemingly the opposite and that is detrimental to the standard of goalkeeping.

that is game over
Egypt have been poor

Russia 3
Mo Salah and his mates 0

all i have heard is Salah this Salah that
salah dont look happy

how about giving the russians some credit

Indeed, offering every player a win bonus of "not labouring in the Tunguska salt mines for the next thirty years" was a truly excellent bit of man-management on Putin's part Whistle

Well that’s probably the end of Egypt’s chances. Without a fully fit Salah, they have simply lacked enough quality.

As for Russia, full credit to them for how they’ve done so far. No one expected them to win their first two matches and score 8 goals. They’ve gone through an evolution in the past 2 years and now we’re seeing it come together. Golovin, Cheryshev, Zobnin and Kutepov are the future of Russian football and after the tournament they can look to further their progress.

Golovin could very well end up at Juventus after the World Cup and you can see why they want him. He is an Allegri (bloody autocorrect. It’s as annoying as Beefy when he’s won a Prediction game) type player; can play in three key positions (centre midfield, attacking midfield and left wing), works hard and is very good technically. I think he’ll be a big success in Italy if the move happens.

I had one of those coats, the sleeves were at the back, very warm though, nice and snug, those gentlemen were very kind they gave me a room with mattresses all over the walls and floors, I could sleep anywhere ....

I’m not sure there’s a big enough straight jacket to fit Beefy. I think you’ll be better off wrapping him in a couple of king size bed mattresses.
I’m looking forward to the Portugal Morocco game. I hope Morocco perform better than they did against Iran. Portugal will defend deep and play on the counter so Morocco will need to be careful. Dirar and Benatia will need to keep a close eye on Ronaldo will be positioned on their side.

Come on Morocco.
