St Charles, I think you make a very fair point and you always hope that the coach or other members of the backroom staff are having a quiet word in the manager's ear, to temper some of their excesses. On reading what has come out in the last few weeks, I get the impression that neither Pulis nor Pardew were amenable to such "advice". Very different characters but both seeming to have one consistent trait - a pig-headed belief in the absolute correctness of their decisions, to the exclusion of any other prevailing views.

SCO, the fans have been voicing their opinion on the previous two regimes, I am sure big Dave and backroom staff would have voiced theirs also .......

But advice is only good advice if you listen to it, you hear it and most importantly you ACT on it ..... Pulis's and Pardew as Baggiesteve has rightly said may have listened but they did not hear and they certainly didn't act on any advice ...... a bit like politicians, it's their way or the highway, it's their opinion and if you disagree your racist, sexiest or a bigot, they only do what they want ........

TP has never been in charge of a club that has been relegated, that's true but he has sown the seeds for clubs that have, including Albion ...... this is, make no mistake, TP's relegation ........... a guy who lays foundations for buildings doesn't put the roof on but if the foundations crumble and the roof falls in he is still to blame ..... TP add it to your CV ...... architect of our relegation ...... this one is yours ......

Big Dave is an Albion legend ........ Not yet ready for the role of permanent number one but following the Liverpool model, bring in a tried and tested manager who can build a legacy to pass on and hand down ....... stability ...... train up big Dave to ascend, train up the man or woman to take on the throne after big Dave and so on ...... build a line of ascension for the throne ......

I'd love Big Dave to make it permanently. He's a great human being, as well as coming from my old patch, Handsworth.

Talksaft, agree would love big Dave to succeed ..... a great man , humble, gentle, an all round nice guy ....... need more English managers, need them to do well, need them to manage with modern tactics not the old English style and we need more people from minority groups to be given the chance ........ hope big Dave is the first British (English) black manager to win the premier league and bring the trophy home to the Hawthorns ....... fifty years of hurt needs an end ...... maybe after our relegation we'll come straight back up and in the centenary year of our last English title (1919/1920) big Dave with hoist the premier league trophy aloft ...... B71 welcome home

While Big D can hold his head high, I am not sure he is ready for the job full time as yet. Yes he has took 4 points from 6, including a great win at Man ure, but lets not forget also, only 1 point from Swansea at home which was probably the result which will be the final nail, we would have only been 3 or 4 points off safety now had we won that game. I accept that it was BD's first game in charge and was happy we did not lose, but as for the job permanently I would want to see a few more results before getting to carried away.

On a different note, still my favourite quote about Big D which was from none other than David Beckham when asked after a game about playing against him and Beckham's quote was "he is not the greatest player, but you need a street map to go round him." Still brings a smile to my face.

I have to say I’m so impressed with Big D at the moment however let’s not go silly. Let’s see what the next 4 games bring. Likewise with ‘Appy’ and McInnes. Just because ex Albion doesn’t mean they will do any good. Rest easy my Pedigree Chums. Proof is in the Puddin’

Well for my tuppence worth, if the style of play continues as it did against Man U - even though they say we had only 30% possession - than I'd renew my membership. Cos that will get us more points than loses in the Championship. So I'd keep him if he does ok til the end of this season. Thumb up Thumb up

Great result yesterday in the 2-2 draw. That boosts Big Dave credentials. As an alternative can i suggest Coleman, can't see him staying at Sunderland - good young coach. Thumb up

Hasn’t he just relegated Sunderland to league one?
