Darren Moore - Baggiebob(BBB) - 16-04-2018

With people saying McInnes or Mowbrey could be our Manager next year. As I said last week, what is wrong with Big D ?

They say he will remain caretaker M even if he collects more points and the players want him. So what objections can there be? Any one have an opinion?  Huh

What's the point of getting one of the failed managers in?
If he can mastermind a win at Old Trafford, and he obviously has the respect of the players. Give him the job. What have you to lose?

Well, forty-six matches next season, for starters Big Grin

Seriously though, I do think Davius Maximus should be on the shortlist if he wants it, depending how the remainder of this season goes. If we keep playing well and getting results in these last few Prem matches, then there's no reason to snub him.

That's a bonus. 46 games to go to instead of this paltry 38. Big Grin

Remembering the 'Liverpool' way of the 70's and 80's and promoting from within, shankley, Paisley, Fagin, Dalglish and the undoubted success this brought, then why not give Big Dave a go. Yes times are different, but DM does have all the values that our club stands for and he loves the club and the community. He understands us and knows what the fans really want. The risk is of course if results are poor and he loses the players and supporters.

RE: Darren Moore - Slick_Footwork - 16-04-2018

It's far too early to be mentioning Moore as a candidate, he's only had 2 games as a football manager.

Yesterday was a fantastic result that we didn't except which comes off the back of a very poor home draw with Swansea.

Names mentioned are merely whoever the press want to print anyway, there might be no truth in them. Moore will be in the charge for the next 4 games and if we perform how we did yesterday and get results, he will obviously have a great chance of getting the job regardless of other names getting touted at this stage.

As caretaker for 6 games, he has the perfect chance to prove himself. We don't need to be hasty and make a decision after 2.

What's clear already is that Moore does get a lot more out of the players than Pardew ever did. However, one good performance is far too early to say if he's tactically astute enough to be given the job full time. For me, he hasn't picked our best team in the games yet, but the lads certainly gave their all. I don't think we need to get hung up in paper talk and think he has no chance though, as any club will give a caretaker the job full time if they do a job well above and beyond expectations.

To be fair to big Dave, the Swansea game came too soon, three days training after Pardews departure, a team with a very negative mindset and rock bottom morale, he raised them up and we were the better side and with a bit more belief we would have won ...... the gap would now be six not nine with four to go ........ it's all about timing.

whoever we appoint as manager
hope the big man is kept on in some capacity

RE: Darren Moore - WBA-Josh - 17-04-2018

I’m usually against an interim becoming permanent because it rarely works out in the long term but if Big Dave finishes with 8-10 or more points from his 6 matches then he should definitely be considered at the very least.

If he isn’t considered then it is imperative that he is kept on next season as First Team Coach or Assistant. His knowledge of the player’s strengths and weaknesses and the best formation and tactics to use with them will be a big help for the new man coming in.

One thing is for certain, he has a bright future as a Coach whether it’s with WBA or elsewhere.

RE: Darren Moore - St Charles Owl - 17-04-2018

I don't know Moore at all, either as a player or a coach but don't you have to ask where was he as a voice who knows "players strengths and weaknesses and the best formation and tactics to use them" while Pulis and Pardew were Manager?? I understand that different managers allow different opinions or voices on different scales, but even if you win every game while he is caretaker surely all the backroom staff under Pulis and Pardew share some blame for your current plight if they could see things were not working and either didn't say or do anything about it at the time!! I am being very cynical with this, but you see this at every club when managers change and so many coaches are simply yes men even if they are built like brick sh*thouses like Moore is!!!
