Prediction League Tables Week 30
#1

Well Well Well
What sort of week was this ?
On average players only got two scores right out off the 10, yet we have a record Breaker on our hands, Unfortunately it's not one that will be remembered for the right reasons   Doh

So congratulations this week goes to Sanjay deservedly claiming top spot with 3 correct scores and one correct result which was the Gamball so no arguments this week on that front.Sanjay scored 14 points

Runner up thanks to a correct score on the Gamball  was Twerton with 9 points, Joker for a change or maybe the first time ever   Big Grin  finishes in the top three with 5 points, closely followed in equal 4th by Derby & WorldClass who both scored 4 Points.

In 6th place with just 3 Points is Zinman not a great week but for reasons that will be mentioned below maybe the best 3 points he has scored all season.

Amelia is still plodding along in no mans land, sorry No woman's land in mid table with 2 points.

Then we hit the minus men, Matt has fallen into his old ways by the looks of things in 8th with -5, followed by the Owl who after his first decent week last week in ages has also returned to bad ways with -7 and 9th place suffering a bad week when he could have done without one is BBB just one correct result showing in a score of -10 and 10th place.

So then on to our record breaker, it's happened, I didn't expect it to especially to someone who has sat so long at the top of the table but the maximum minus score has been reached, with nothing at all correct DD has hit the unmagical -13 beat that if you can !! well unless you forget to play your insurance ball that's impossible.

So its panic stations at the top and the door is being left open for someone to step right in there, ... Step forward ........   Whistle

Beefy   Thumb up

A tale of 2 halves in the Premiership, all the top 5 places changed while the bottom 6 stayed exactly where they were last week.

Every Bonus Ball down the pan and all but 1 Insurance Ball saved a point, as 7 points were scored in total from 11 predictors  Doh .

Regaining the lead he lost last week and up a place is Zinman, back on top & 13 points clear of the pack, he enjoyed a 16 point swing with DD in 2nd who did everything wrong, literally, to score an unbeatable low for the week  Sad .

After prematurely writing him off for the title last week Sanjay climbed 2 up to 3rd to remind me that one decent week when others struggle can immediately put you back into contention. The same can be said for BBB who although dropping a place into 4th is still only 19 points from the leader and with 5 weeks left it’s probably between the top 4 for the trophy.

St Charles loyalty cost him a few points and a position as he dropped to 5th and possibly too far back to have a say in the run-in but you never know  Wink

Worldclass in 6th and Derby in 7th are having their own little mid-table battle and are separated by only 4 points, with pride and a position still very much to play for.

Matts yo-yo season continued as he put himself back into reach of the relegation candidates in 8th and the same can be said for Amelia in 9th who finds herself getting closer to the drop zone as each week passes, although she did crack the 100 correct predictions for the season  Thumb up .

Twerton in 10th edged himself closer to safety but will need a couple of good weeks out of the final 5 to give himself a chance of maintaining his Premiership status for next season, while Joker is still looking for a minor miracle to pull off an unlikely escape.

Bomber

Clearly a very unpredictable weekend - even Albion didn't lose. This was probably the lowest number of correct result predictions since this competition began (there's a challenge for you Bomber!) but ironically the only match that everyone got right was the gamball, but even then, only one person got the score right. Contrast that with the bonuses which also saw a clean sweep - of incorrect predictions.

So to the week's table. Sharing the Prediction League's equivalent of the green jacket, the grey handkerchief, are Vic, heading the table for the first time since week 7, and Baggieone, both getting one correct score plus 2 other correct results. Salop only got one result correct, but luckily for him it was a correct score on the gamball - 16 points from one match and minus 9 from the rest.

Stairs comes in 2 points behind the leaders but does get the Saido award for turning up late, while the promotion challengers all appear to be struggling. Beefy, 4eva and Snooty all level on 4 points while Bomber will be relieved not to have dropped too many points, saved by the gamball. Sadly Quantum failed to predict and therefore saved Bomber from the ignominy of last place.

Zin

With 5 weeks of the season left there’s still time for someone out of the top 4, possibly 5, to grab the bull by the horns and put themselves in pole position for promotion, but it certainly wasn’t this week  Thumb down . As Zin said every Bonus Ball bombed and like the Premiership only our leader didn’t need their Insurance Ball to save them a point  Doh .

Snooty managed to extend his lead at the top by another solitary point and passed the 200 point mark for the second time this season. That lead though is only 5 points from 4eva who moved up a place and back into 2nd, the third holder of that position in the last 3 weeks.

Bomber was the one to make way dropping a place to 3rd and very much into the clutches of Beefy  Blush  Confused  Sad  in 4th who sits just a point adrift. Like last week only 10 points separate our top 4 and it looks like it could go down to the wire after 30 odd weeks to see who will claim the 2 golden tickets into the Premiership for next season.

BaggieOne in 5th only edged closer to the top 4 by a couple and will need a couple of big weeks in the final 5 to have any chance of gate-crashing the promotion party.

Salop in 6th and Stairs in 7th swapped positions for the second week running to keep their own little battle running into the final weeks.

8th placed Quantums no show looks on paper to be not too damaging for the week but Vicar may take heart that he has edged a little closer to relinquishing his grip on the unwanted wooden spoon.

Overnight I was on 199 points 2 behind Lord Snooty, a respectable score of 7 on Saturday, then came slaughter Sunday where it all went wrong ...... promotion chasing Shrewsbury lost to lower league Lincoln and then a three quarter paced Chelsea can't hit a barn door and do an "Albion" and gift a poor side an equaliser ..... on course for a possible score of 19 end up on four ....... that's football!

Stat of the week. Excluding Quantum’s no show, the Championship scored 37 points in total. Their score for just the gamball game was 72!
