15c would be about September-October for the UK. 20-24c would be classed as a heatwave. I'm guessing because it runs on the surface then you get floods. Sounds to me California would be the perfect place to play Cricket all year round.

20-24c is long sleeve weather for most inhabitants of LA!!! Problem in LA is its surrounded by mountains, big mountains as well, so when it rains and the water runs on the surface instead of soaking in, it picks up pace as it heads to the city. So many years ago they build massive concrete gulleys throughout the city that channel the water down to the Pacific and when it rains hard in the mountains those things are flowing very quickly and definitely save a lot of houses from flooding. They don't look great, but they do their job!! "What's cricket?" would be the likely answer from most Yanks if you suggested playing it!!! To be fair, its the perfect place to do anything all year round, and the weather here is one of the main reasons we moved from Chicago 4 years ago!!

The real benefit of rain down here is that it falls as snow on the mountains and gives some nice fresh snow on the ski resorts down here as well. Skiing in the morning and lunch by the beach - can't beat that!!

So the Beast has finally farted out about half an inch of snow so today everybody is in work today except the poor teachers who cant get into the schools probably because their BMW's don't drive in it.
Those poor Southern whimpy namby pambies have had to suffer cancelled trains and hours of deadlock traffic jams because an almost an inch of snow has ground the capital and the M20 to a halt. My heart goes out to them all - not. Serves them right. Welcome to the real world.

News from the South West is we just had a little snowstorm here, but now it's sunny again. We are in chaos. People are eating their own neighbours.

We were forecast heavy snow for tomorrow and rain on Friday last time I looked. The Met Office is in Exeter, so our weather should accurate, but they aren't used to looking out of the window to the east.

As Exeter do lose games to their pitch I would rate Saturday doubtful, but then I'd rate the Met Office's chances of an accurate forecast doubtful too - they seem to know what's coming but not quite where or when.

Dancing, we mostly used to go into Sheff' to experience smog. As you headed in on the No12 from Chesterfield down Meadowhead, you looked down upon the city and saw nothing but a thick grey pall. (Where I was brought up on Racecourse Road red deposits from the foundry at Sheepbridge would collect inside our windows. And where Pooch was brought up they were three to a cardboard box sliding down the pithead ...... and the school called that a PE lesson.)

And now we have another little snow shower dancing outside the window. I'll have to run out and fall over. After all I am a pensioner.

Cardboard Box !!!!!!!!!!! That were a bloody luxury. We had a sheet of newspaper. Used to walk around with Daily Herald stamped across my backside. Eeeee lad them were the days.

Snow update. Weather forecast today was for light snow showers. Its absolutely blitzed it down nearly all morning. Its official - Derbyshire now has more snow than London.
The whole of Derbyshire has now ground to halt, phone lines are down, power is off, there's no bread or milk in the shops even the Snake Pass is shut !!!! Whatever next, if it doesn't stop soon I wont have anything to moan about.

Snowing all morning. Emma on the way this afternoon. Either our lads won't be able to get out of Derbyshire, or Exeter will be too bad to play (or even reach!)

Thursday's Premier League Darts in Exeter has been cancelled with a red severe weather warning in place for snow in Devon.

Snow now 4-5 inches deep.

Three people sledging down the hill opposite us in a blizzard on what appears to be an upside-down ironing board.

Chances for tomorrow's 10 am inspection at St James's Park - looking slimmer by the minute.

Yesterday appropriately they had a blizzard on the Lizard.
