Just how good can we be when we choose to play?

A quite astonishing performance by the lads. Who, if anyone gave us a chance? Liverpool on a lengthy home undefeated run. Albion struggling like mad in the league. Every player put in terrific efforts especially Rodriguez, Dawson, Hegazi. Brunt and Barry rolled back the years with stonking performances and Krychowiak really looked a high-class player. I felt Nyom had one of his best-ever games for the club and Foster made some great saves towards the end.
This game serves to remind everyone that we are still a club with PL pedigree. It will be a bloody tragedy if we are relegated when we know we can play as well as this. We have surrendered so many points from winning positions that we should be pushing for Europe rather than where we are.
I can recall the last time we beat a very good Liverpool side in 1968 and went on to win the cup. Clearly we have to focus on the dogfight to stay in the Premier this season but a good cup run could be a nice distraction. Finally Krychowiak (ex PSG) and Gibbs (ex Arsenal) are on the winning side for us against high-class opposition.
This was one the Baggies' greatest victories for years. Let's all hope that tomorrow when the dust clears and we count the cost- in terms of injuries to Livermore, Evans, Robson-Kanu and Gibbs, that we have not paid too high a price.

Alouion, given your previous support for him and I don’t really want to say “I told you so” but out of interest, have you changed your mind on Pulis now?

Naughty naughty baggieman, let sleeping dogs lie, but in response, I was not 100% a fan of TP's style or history just I guess like Alouion, but I was 100% behind the Albion manager, whoever the manager, I guess just like Alouion, he was bought in to do a job with an aging squad, this he did, just for the most part it was boring, he was hampered by the takeover, when he had better players he went ultra defensive, I hated that, he caused our current situation. In support of Alouion, my opinion of TP, his tactics and philosophies has not changed, he divides clubs, he plays awful football but he fire fights ....... occasionally he will have a season playing attractive football as per Palace but generally he is an 11th to 17th place manager. Glad his stay was short, glad he has gone but would still support him if he was here now because he is (would be the Albion manager). Now onwards and upwards, AP's blue and white army.

Baggieman - 4eva has put my viewpoint across very well. I am a fan of the club first and foremost and for the most part Pulis did a reasonable job, if hard to watch, in what is a very tough division for all clubs outside the financial elite. Under him as well as Pardew this season we have squandered a ridiculous number of points from winning positions which could have had us well clear of danger.
I will be convinced that Pardew is the man not before he keeps what we all must know by now, is a side which is several places below its rightful place in the league. We still have a good side whether we do business or not.
Come Wednesday we may well be bottom of the Premier. However any team that can stick 5 goals in the net at Anfield should be good enough to avoid relegation from the position in which we are in.

That's very well put, and after the last few performances I think the players will have enough confidence, even if we ARE bottom, to put a good run together Thumb up

Pardew has given them belief and as he stated ‘let them off the leash’. Some teams will turn us over but we will beat the majority playing this way.

Well done Pards!!

There’s only one person who can be blamed for our current position at the foot of the Premiership table - ANTHONY RICHARD PULIS.

People say he saved us from certain relegation under Alan Irvine - I don’t agree.

Pulis has left us in a far worse position than we ever were under Irvine and only the sacking of Pulis and the appointment of Pardew gives us any hope.

Slightly worrying after Wednesdays game seeing they were playing Pulis style football (was he laughing) then having thought Pardew thought this a no no win, left out players to again play on Saturday the Liverpool style and a 3-0 win.
Here's hoping cos we'd still be in the bottom 3.
