Berahino drink drive!
#1
Have I missed chat about this?

Apparently or wonder kid has been caught after the Manchester United game for speeding and drink drive. He is in court in December and could get up to 6 months in prison.

It might explain his lack lustre performances recently and his lack of pitch time in the England games.

Guilty or not, there is one rule for them and another for us, so I expect a well paid brief to keep him out of jail and we will sell him in January!

Can't blame Irvine for this one, But yet another incident of poor discipline by a West Brom player it has been happening far to often on/off pitch over the last couple of seasons I'm f*cking sick to death of it now!

Just read the press available and to be honest it does not make sense to me.  Not one of them says he was "charged" with drink driving but that he was arrested and bailed until December.  Now that suggests, they are not sure what charges they are going to bring in relation to the way he was driving "at high speed" and are waiting for the CPS to see if they think there is evidence available for a more serious driving charge such as "dangerous driving" instead of "careless driving", dangerous driving carries a maximum sentence of 2 years inside plus and unlimited fine compared to the maximum of six months for careless, I don't think for one second that he would get anywhere near that though for just speeding and driving while under the influence, to get the top end of that sentence you really have to be endangering life.

If it was just a case of drink driving it would have been dealt with by the police there and then and he would have probably have been before the magistrates by now.  Explains why he did not get on the pitch for England though.

What an idiot he got away relatively scott free with the gas incident, says he has learnt his lesson, now this.  When you think this kid "had" the world at his feet and he kicks sand in its face  Doh  Doh  Doh

If the club were aware of this - and I can't see how they couldn't have known - you have to wonder why they've not only carried on playing him, but also kept pushing the "Saido the reformed hero" stories over the last couple of weeks with his England cap. I mean, if you knew the lad was due up in court next month, basic PR would surely be not to keep bigging him up to the fans?

All very strange, and I'm going to wait till the facts are in before condemning. If allegations are true then it's idiotic and disappointing, but for the time being, I'm going to continue trusting the bloke down the end of my street who talks to parked cars in his pyjamas as a more reliable news source than the Sun.

It does make you wonder why this wasn't all over the press in Oct. It's the kind of thing they love.
Young England star about to be capped and charged with DD.

Just a thought, surely if he was suspected of D.D the cops would have Br Tested him on the spot, and taken him in. How can theay bring a drink driving charge a month after the fact.

Agree the timing is all very odd. As Ska'd says, we can only wait to hear more, but it may be that they've been bigging him up to try and get his character references in first.

If it's all true, I'd cash him in right now (January). This kid's more trouble than he's worth (no....not literally!)
Unless his value's now gone down I'd take £20m.

Start at £20ml be lucky to get it.I reckon the clubs that are interested want him for less around 12-15 m Might end up not going anywhere if J.P digs his heels in 'cos he can't get what he wants.
