Pathetic really. Should be a sliding scale of violent conduct. How can he get the same ban as somebody who does a pretend headbutt?

Austin is a thug, deliberately leaving his foot in to kick Lossl in the face. He could have jumped over Lossl if he wanted to, like hundreds of other forwards in the same situation. In my opinion, he should be banned for 3 games after a FA Doctor has passed him as being fit to play. Southampton should be banned from selecting him until the FA Doctor has declared him to be fit. That might stop players getting off scot-free because of injury.
And Gary Lineker and his sidekicks were pathetic in their discussion by having a laugh among themselves instead of roundly condemning the attack.
