Theo covered the club's history in his thread only 4 months ago.

Head To Head

You can't get more evenly matched than that!

Our most recent meeting at home on 26th August was a 0-0 which we celebrated as a good result at the time. We hadn't met since to the 2010/11 season before that. We can't be much closer in the table; we're 11th on 21 points and they're 12th on 18.

Team News

Kachunga out for about 3 months so looks like big Col could have a start? They are being positive about Lowe coming back on Saturday. Where's Kasey?

Advice for visiting fans

Southampton FC don't recommend travelling by car due to lack of car parking. However the football ground guide offers advice and also for train travellers here. You can download the club's guide here. Anyone know about pubs? I'm struggling to find reliable advice on pubs. This is from the "to the 92" website:

Did you know?

... that the Spitfire took its first flight from Southamption Airport (then known as Eastleigh Aerodrome)?

... Chris Packham was born in Southampton and he's one of my favourite animal champions.

Have you ever had a daft haircut?

... Craig David was born in Southampton. He is NOT one of my favourite singers.

Ridiculous song  Doh

Someone else I can't stand, Benny Hill, was born in Southampton. Although, this song was moderately funny...

... Fiona Phillips is allegedly a fan. She wasn't a good dancer, no allegedly about it.

Who predicted Joe as the winner last weekend?

Their Sammy likes a dance ...

There you go. Sorry it's not more. Feeling a bit lacking in inspiration.

Nice one, Amelia.

As for Benny Hill, everybody calling him an old pervert at the time, turns out he was the only 1970s entertainer who wasn't.  Whistle  Tongue  Rolleyes  Big Grin

Junior slops gets back home for xmas Friday so we're driving down sarf, he's keen to get back on the Prem bandwagon (though on paper he's not missed a game - nudge nudge wink wink say no more...

Thanks to the Hamble Terrier who I've got to know recently (that's the few times I've met him when sober) who apparently works about 10 mins away from the St Mary Whitehouse Stadium so we can use his company parking lot apparently, free and decent for getting out past the station up towards the M27. I'm under instructions for a rapid return for Junior's planned pub crawl of Burton a town with more than a pub or two it must be said - students!

Smart ground, good atmosphere with their noisy lot to our right, never a happy hunting ground from memory -dont think I've missed any our games V Saints including that miserable League Cup game at the old place when Le Tis dismantled us on his own. I drove back that night (wasnt even my car - you could do that back then) my mate fell asleep before we got out of Soton and woke at Flockton 2pm then went home for more ZZZs - where I looked like death warmed up the next morning for work at 7am.

Hoping for brighter times over the Xmas period bouyed by the Watford performance and hopefully some belief in the squad (and management) that having a proper go and playing in the opponents half is easier than defending for 80% of the time.

Doesn't look like a sell out Saturday, Leicester too by the sounds so seats available and shouldn't be a need to sit in designated seats unless they bring the wallpaper roll in closer to box us all in that bit more.

Whatever, I'm confident those travelling will give it a good go to match the atmosphere we enjoyed in Hertfordshire last weekend.

Going down on the choo choo train for this(it's going to be a long day) only ever been to Southampton once and I think we got spanked 5-0 so let's hope history isn't repeated this weekend.

Yes I went to that. Played midweek because the original date got frozen off. Can't believe they built a new stadium with no under soil heating. Doh

Didn't they say they installed the pipes but didn't fill them with antifreeze because they didn't think they'd need it?

He's buying a drink for every Town fan at the game on Saturday. Thumb up
