It was a stupid decision. Only the referee thought it was a penalty.

As I said, its just as likely that you will get one of those given against you in the next few games, you see them all the time.

Snoots went for 27, SCO for 19 - I make it 37 (highlighted in red in the OP) not counting the video or any rip-off's of his lyrics. ![]() ![]() My crib sheet - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elton_John_discography

It was a pen guys. It's harsh, but it's a pen. We've had stonewalls not given for us so the fact that this one gets given is no odds to me. It's not a bloody dive, he gets tackled and then gets back onto his feet. I don't see how there's even a debate here.

I think the debate started cos I was so incensed by Phil Neville's comments. ![]() ![]()

Our first goal was definitely offside, both of Hogg's bookings were harsh, Deeney's challenge was never a red card, it definitely wasn't a penalty (although it wasn't a dive either). The officials really didn't have a good day.

Myself and a few around me thought the ref had blown for obstruction or similar by Depoitre, but then we saw him pointing at the spot. He obviously saw something to make him decide that. The ref at Anfield was the only bloke in the country that saw a penalty when he gave that one against us, so I'm having this one too. It changed the scoreline but it didn't change where the points were going.

Part time coaches like Neville obviously know what they are talking about then.

Neville pisses me off no end. He's publicly said players should dive if it helps them win so all he was basically arguing then was that we should just let all players dive and then refs should punish it if they see it. Garbage punditry. Deeney's was an orange card. If a town player did that, I couldn't really complain as it's borderline. if it was a yellow, you'd say Deeney was lucky, which says everything tbh.
