We did it, half the points we need in half the games. Won't be easy 2nd half the season with all the manager-go-rounds. Most of them will improve, but I'll take this. We've still gotta work but many a side has been better than this, relaxed and not won another match worth talking about. Take a bow boys, take a bow.

Merson, go fiddle with Holloway

Which complete idiot at Thread No 5 said he expected the usual away day thumping... there's some nonsense wrote on here ???????

Apart from the M1 south, a 3 hour diverted trek from Midlands de East , the day over performed.

We started brightly, aggressive and with control, scored 2 in the box quickly and kept them at bay for the remainder of the 1st half.

With Deeney getting a straight red, it looked even more likely we were quids in, Hoggy then clips his man, the ref looking to even things up sent him down the shoot. Despite a screamer from LDP, who returned to the re-start applauded in response to what seemed like a 5 min break in play while the whole 2300 chanted his name, that must certainly give him a lift - what shift he put in against a couple of sizeable centre halfs all afternoon.

At 3-1 squeeky bum time commenced as they rammed home a loose ball, Lossl made 2 superb late saves.
Mooy then tucks the pen away to seal matters, everyone wishing he had given it to Ince perhaps but that's professionalism I suppose.

One of the best and most vocal away supports I've witnessed, a steep bank of fans sold out and covered roof all helping, the roof lights going out added to the atmosphere. Nice to see the home fans trooping off early.

Big performances again from Big Col, Malone got forward well when he could Schindy some excellent tackles and Lossl stops.

Waggers has got to take this game plan to Sarfampton next Saturday.

Gonna be a long night. At the panto now (oh yes we are). Then there's match of the day to watch. And the Strictly final. It'll be mid morning afore we get to bed. Big Grin
