Tony Pulis keeps repeating the mantra that the club is better now than when he arrived and that the team is "evolving".
Although there are many different definitions of evolution, most relating to the order of life, one that seems pretty relevant comes from the Business Dictionary which defines evolution as: "The slow process of change from one form or level to a better or higher one, or one that brings in to being a superior or new order". It makes the valid point that evolution isn't linear, that there are false starts and long periods of what is describes as "no fruitful activity". I feel this may be very fair when describing the development of a species, maybe even a corporation, but less so when managing a provincial football club. It would be interesting to know when TP, or maybe Darwin as we should now call him, reckons evolution will be, more or less, complete, accepting that evolution never properly ends. It may be that he feels a spell in the lower leagues will aid this development, using another well worn mantra "sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better".
Interestingly, the Business Dictionary attributes the guiding principles of evolution as having been borne out by "fossil research", also known as the Tony Pulis Coaching and Tactics Manual.

For those of you who are gamers, you may see a relation to a phrase used in the game Far Cry 3, it is usually, incorrectly credited to Einstein.

The phrase is very apt in the case of Tony Pulis and his methods and is a phrase the board would do well to bear in mind when considering the future.

Paleontologists have just discovered what they believe is the oldest skeletal remains of a any Dinosaur found so far.............................amazingly its wearing white trainers and a feckin baseball cap.

known as The Defendersaurus It was apparently killed by trying to defend itself against 11 Tyrannosaurs and sank without a trace into the prehistoric mud.

It was known to continually Bark and strut up and down waving its arms around causing total confusion to other dinosaurs around it who sadly perished too.

LOL. I watched some of the highlights this morning while tucking into my healthy yogurt breakfast. To be honest there were quite a number of the lads that just didnt seemed keen to try and tackle......while in the back ground you can hear the barks........tactical genius.
