Some reports are stating that Tony Pulis' job is under no threat.

Yeh - read the Mail one earlier, and it makes a lot of sense when looking at it from the owner's (and hierarchy's) viewpoint.
I still think tho, that if we lose the next 3 - which we could well do - he'll be skating on VERY thin ice .....in fact I can't see him surviving then.

i actually don`t think our owners realise how much fans(not all of them i will add) want this guy out of our club.

Bit of advice for Saturday, I'll be coming up on the coach and will probably have at least an hour and a half spare for a pint or three. Where the best place closest to the ground that'll let in away fans? I've been told The Gas Club is only about a 5 minute walk away and that sounds decent.
Any other suggestions?

Personally I don't think it's a simple as the owners not being in tune with the fans.
Not so long ago John Williams clearly must have played a big part in giving Pulis his contract extension, and only a short while after he's now presented with a really difficult situation. The powers that be that will ultimately make the call on whether Pulis stays or goes is no longer in the boardroom, it's in Lai's hands in China.
Let's say John Williams was in discussion with Lai right now about bringing in a new manager - some very difficult questions may be asked of him as to why he gave a thumbs up to extend Pulis' contract in the first place. Is that the factor on why there's these articles coming out in the press?
I think we'd have seen action taken by now if Jeremy Peace was still our chairman, though.
As far as other options go, I felt Everton pulled the trigger on Koeman far too quickly. If he'd come to us is a different matter altogether.

I don't think TP's job will be under real pressure from the higher ups until after the next 3 matches if we lose them all. To them TP is the guy to keep us up. However right now TP is the guy who will take us down if nothing changes.
As for a replacement I still cling to a hope of Paulo Sousa being on our radar and being interested but with him linked heavily to the AC Milan job it is very doubtful. My 2nd choice is Ronald Koeman who I think would do well for us. He showed last season with Everton and during his time with Feyenoord his ability to get clubs back on track whilst bringing through the youth.

my personal opinion on foreign coaches is that they are all looking for jobs as soon as a manger with a top 6 club is under threat
Koeman will not come to us,we aint big enough for him.
we are small fish in a big pond

If we were to go about it the right way with proper due diligence (which we didn't do with Mel) and full backing like Southampton did with Pochettino, Koeman and Puel then there's more chance of success than failure.
Ultimately when TP eventually leaves we have 2 choices. Stick with someone similar like Allardyce or Moyes who won't rock the boat but the quality of play won't change or bring some freshness to the club with someone like Koeman or Sousa even if it means paying more for them. I'd really hope that the club would go with the second choice but the first choice is more likely considering our chairman's record.

Sir Megson, I put a guide to pubs in my match preview. They are the closest pubs. The Gas Club gets the best write ups for value, etc from other visitors. We have been to a party there and the drinks were cheap but that was 10 years ago. The Head of Steam in town is supposed to be ok for real beer drinkers. Will try to get you more advice.
I have asked Wakey to put his twopenneth in about the pubs. I don't think he will mind me saying that he knows his beer.
So does theo, me thinks.
