Pulis being Pulis, he may well pull off a shock win against a big side in the coming weeks to keep himself in the job, but right now his position's looking closer to untenable than at any other point since he's been here.  Shockingly bad on every front.

That's my fear to be honest. At about 70 odd minutes played yesterday, I said to the bloke next to me that the worst result today would be for us to score and pinch a result here because that would have made the incredibly poor quality of football justified.

I've always been one of a few on here and up the Albion in general to be playing Devil's advocate and putting forward a more Pro Pulis side to the debates, but that performance yesterday was the final straw for me and many others. The crowd will be turning on him in the masses against Man City and I'd expect he will be struggling to hold onto his job as the results just have not been good enough against the sides we've faced.

What's worse is I'd fully expect us to sack Pulis then give the job to Megson for quite a large amount of the season while lining a replacement up. The guy does not deserve to have his record tarnished and it's a depressing situation all round.

Apologies for my rant  last night after being cold and bored all afternoon during and after the match. However I won't apologies about pylis and getting him to go. I have been saying this for a year now and most people on here saying give him a chance. Obviously our owners and pylis don't read our comments, because if they did I'm sure they'd now know our feelings and do something about it.

I, like a few others, have been pro Pulis since his arrival. I wasn't happy about the style of football I knew we'd get but hey, if it bought in results then it's acceptable, right?

The end of last season was a joke, and the only reason Pulis wasn't sacked then was because we were already safe and everyone was blaming the players for "already being on holiday". Roll on the beginning of this season and everything seemed good, we had one of the best transfer windows I can remember, we went 3 games unbeaten (4 including the cup game)... And now we're here; My hope and optimism disappearing fast.

Why is nothing being done about the abysmal passing and possession? If the issue was being addressed then surely we'd have seen some improvement by now but apparently Pulis is happy with 30% possession every game? I know the game isn't just about possession but if we're constantly giving the opposition possession and allowing them to put pressure on us then only the obvious and inevitable will happen. We'll defend and defend and defend until the 70th minute when the opposition score.

I joked that we'd end up beating Man City earlier in the week but now I just fear how many goals we'll concede against a team that has been scoring for fun this season.

I have to confess that I had the same feelings as Sir Megson watching yesterday's game. As the game wore on (probably after about 20 minutes), I was hoping we'd get nothing from it on the grounds it might speed Pulis' departure. I'll be honest and say that I've never ever felt this before watching my lifelong team but I think it's desperate now. No doubt, on other forums, I'd be called a traitor or told to go and support the Vile (I'm not sure which is worse) but everyone on this site is passionate about our club. We may disagree over players, selection, even the manager but everyone is a committed, diehard Baggies fan....and I think we, and the thousands of others, deserve better than this.

Unrest with Phillips now Jame McClean having a go on twitter also in the Bham mail ......

One of McClean’s followers, jackelliotheard, replied: “Sort it out Tracksuit Tone. That being said, James, you play with much more passion for ROI..... bring that same passion to Albion.”

McClean responded: “Cant [sic] play with passion if you don’t play at all.”

My sentiments weren't exactly the same Steve to be honest, the point I made after watching an abject performance for 70 minutes was that it'd be the completely wrong result to pinch a win as we had been absolutely dreadful.

I've always maintained that the results drying up is what would turn the rest of the fans against Pulis, as it's obvious the football isn't great to watch. I don't think anyone was in doubt about that.

There were sections of fans, myself included, who turned on Pulis yesterday and let him know we weren't happy. And when it's the hardcore fans turning, time will not be on his side.

We had a similar watershed moment at Bournemouth away where he just about managed a run of results afterwards to bring some fans back onside. I don't see that happening this time.

I agree with you, SM, about the results. I think fans were prepared to tolerate this style of football if it meant we achieved enough points, and the occasional spectacular win over one of the big boys or the Vile, to ensure another season in the PL. However, this style + defeats leads to an understandable supporter reaction.
I'd love to know, having just extended his contract, if there is any current discussion about his future. You'd think there would be but I'm not so sure

Your last point Steve - I'm sure that if results don't change those discussions WILL take place......it's just how many places we need to drop beforehand surely!

You'd definitely hope that the board are beginning to start the process of identifying a replacement, because irrespective of the good work he did in his first season, he was only ever a stopgap and not part of the long term future of West Bromwich Albion.

He needed us at the time, as we needed him. He's hit the glass ceiling now though and undoubtedly, it's time to go.

I have just read that we are the only team in the Premiership who haven't won in the last FIVE games. The last Five games, and now we've slipped to 13th place. Are we going to slip even further?
