But welcome anyway. DD It means 'treacherous' Dingle and it is used almost uniquely with Albion when Albion was another name for England. Perfidious Albion is what those French johnnies used to call us in times gone by. They probably still are judging by how the Brexit talks are going.

Dingle Dingle, I used Perfidious Albion for my Fantasy Football team at work, originates from Roman times and means untrustworthy, due to constant conflicts with the indigenous Briton tribes. Seemed appropriate for the tribal world of football and was also the limit of my tiny imagination

Seemed appropriate for the tribal world of football and was also the limit of my tiny imagination I thought the origins of Perfidious Albion were around the 13th or 14 century then re-established by the French and as you say meaning untrustworthy, but relating to international affairs involving "Albion" (Britain). May be seeing it used again in the future ![]()

"Man City preparing another bid for Evans, whilst Albion look to replace him with Marc Wilson from Bournemouth". Ok, is someone taking the p*ss here?

Well f**k me. Been in Australia for a couple of months and return to a squad that is beginning to have the makings of a good team. No question that each area is stronger than last year (except goalkeeping which has been good for a while) with the proviso that Evans stays.

How can you replace Evans with Wilson?? It's like replacing your Rolls Royce with a Vauxhall Vectra. I'd be surprised if we sign a Wilson now to be honest.

Wilson would be a bench warmer addition to the squad I guess IF we can't get other deals over the line in time.
This assumes Evans is sold (It looks very likely) |
