...Caldwell needs to go out and sign a competent keeper in the next two days because if he relies on Anyon he will cost him his job very soon.
Once again I witnessed a keeper who is incapable of stopping a shot ,he is too small and his positioning is very poor. What is the point of signing a keeper who is decent with his feet if he cant prevent the ball from going in the net.
This is the fourth or fifth time I have seen him and he has made one save so far. They only had four serious efforts on target tonight and scored four goals.
To be honest it was a decent performance by us,we played some good stuff and it was an entertaining game .The jury is still out on Ugwu and I'm not sure if he is up to it.We should have given Dev's mate Ricky a chance tonight but he's out on loan and Brewster seems out of favour.
Motm was probably Reed although all the midfield had good games .
Like I said I wont judge us on tonights result against a good League 1 team but I'm expecting a similar performance and better result Saturday.

Blue, what are you drinking? Because I think Devon, Dancing and I would like some.
We've conceded 17 goals in 6 games, we can't keep a lead and 3-5-2 isn't working. Caldwell has been in charge for 25 games and he's only won 3 that's a win ratio of 12% that is the lowest a Chesterfield manager has ever had.
I said judge him after 10 games but its 6 games in and its not working something needs to change quickly!

Blue Bradford didn't play their first team and still managed 4. We scored 2 hip hip hooray with a nearly full squad. We might have put in a decent performance but we lost - again, and we proved once again that we cant defend.
Up front we look unsure and O'grady has been a big disappointment, he takes an age to turn and by now we should be seeing signs of some kind of partnership up top but there's nothing. Dennis scores and gets taken off again, what was that about? Yes German should have been there so why wasn't he? Why is the world round, why doesn't Donald Trump come and give our boys a pep talk, why does our manager persist with piss poor formations and playing players out of position? Who knows............................... One thing I do know is lose on Saturday and the knives will really be out and I will have 1 in each hand.

So Tommy was sub ........... amazing ......... either Brad Jones has piles and couldn't sit through a game or our idiot manager must really believe we'll be a better team with Anyon in goal. Has there been a team which Joe Anyon has played for that was actually better with him in goal? Can you name any other club that has reacted twice to its keeper being seriously injured by getting relegated that season? I don't know if Tommy can return to his best, but if he is fit enough to be on the bench then it is only by playing competitively regularly that he will get there. Last night was a chance thrown away
The most accurate assessment I've made of GC was saying he is a Walter Mitty. I was close. He actually thinks he's Pep Guardiola doesn't he? If Blue's right and Joe Anyon could cost GC his job EVERY CHESTERFIELD FAN should ring the club and demand Anyon plays on Saturday.
Don't you think it odd not even to be able to find a place on the bench for Dimaio on Saturday and then to select him in a pivotal midfield role on Tuesday? Then 12 minutes later he's injured. Isn't it odd to have praised Delial Brewster during a substitute appearance and since then he hasn't be allowed near the pitch? Isn't it odd to keep subbing your own subs? What pro' is happy at a club where he becomes a subbed sub? If you were Pep at Man City you could get away with it, but at Chesterfield Notwigan Athletic?
Pooch, as you were so keen to quote odds at Dancing and I, Chesterfield are more than 2/1 against to win at home on Saturday against a side which is now on a losing run ......... We're turning into East Stirling.
How much use Alfreton will be to Ricky I don't know. I suspect we are just watching the destruction of a young talent. We gave him one start and I don't think he'll ever get another.
The structure of the club, its ownership, even its CEO seem unlikely to change. Every fan looks at his team and thinks he could do a better job than the manager ........ but I couldn't make anything of our squad. We need to change the manager but we are giving him a real hospital pass. It'll be too late for the window, he's stuck with contracted players who are clearly disillusioned and unable to mesh, there's no budget anyway, no-one knows who is in charge or where we'd like to go .... It's unusual for a manager to build a side at a totally dysfunctional club, but it's not impossible. Eddie Howe did it at Bournemouth with 15 players and no money, but that's like striking gold in your back garden.
I hope I'm wrong but every indication is that GC is a guarantee of failure but by ditching him we only ditch the guarantee. Currently I'd assess hope at somewhere between no and bob, but sometimes under a new regime, new tactics, praise instead of criticism, fun instead of drudgery, players become different men showing talents no one had dreamed they possessed. As they are, our squad are misfits. The question is can an idiot organisation uncover a visionary capable of transforming a bunch of failures.

I think OG played well last night and it was no coincidence that Ugwu improved after he came on .As for Dennis I have seen a worrying trait emerging ,when things arent going well for him he loses his head ,it happened at home the other week and again last night ,he was booked both times and he could easily have been sent off the other week and if Caldwell hadnt taken him off I fear he would have done something silly last night.
Apparently Tommy received a dead arm on Saturday which I hope is true as it means it was a new injury rather than aggravating the old one .The fact he was on the bench means he isnt too bad and hopefully will play on Saturday,he needs to for Caldwells sake.
I would play Maguire on Saturday with Wiseman right back and Kellett left back in a 4 .Hird sub.
I also think Mcourt deserves a starting role at the expense of Weir.
Caldwell needs to listen to me to save his job.

So Blue you're telling me our manager put our not-fit-to-play goalkeeper on the bench in the not-fit-to-exist trophy. And there is no aspect of that which is completely mental?
Like what would have happened if Anyon had got injured and then Tommy had gone on and got injured too? No goalies for Saturday - no change on last season then?
Anyon would certainly have been in Saturday's line-up if he'd conceded two or fewer against the Bantam's Reserves. Four, maybe that's enough to make GC try his keeper again ......
GC's never going to listen you Pooch, he's plucking random messages from the ether. The last one was sign Diego. Let's hope it's a good one, at least his dad could play and had some heart.

We've signed a centre half from Shrewsbury reserves ,I can see your faces getting redder !.
OR weve signed a centre half who is a Scotland U21 player and is a big unit who cost them a fee.Its still a strange one that they sign a player then dont play him and after four games loan him out.
As for the keeper how do we know Tommy wasnt 90% fit and was on the bench as a precaution ? I'm still disappointed GC hasnt signed a keeper.
Never mind ,the centre half might block everything, he looks big enough ,thats if he plays of course .
Impossible to know the team for Saturday now.
