Scottish Cup semi-final: Hibs v Aberdeen, Sat 22 April, KO 12.15pm

RE: CUMMINGS....I don't think he will be here next season and i'm ok with that as I agree that he blows hot and cold and yesterday he was a wasted body for most of the game. Over the course of a season he will get u 20 goals or so, that's true but if the offers do come which I think they will (above £2.5 m and i'd jump at it) seems reasonable when u look at the pish players going for much more than that these days. Hibs will need 2 strikers and something will need to happen about the defence too. I'd also like to see a goalscoring midfielder as we simply don't score enough goals. McGinn ,Bartley, Fyvie do a job but they don't add much to the goal tally in that sense. McGeough scored yesterday but that is not the general rule as he scores very rarely. As for the wide players, i'd like to see more of Humphreys and Harris before the season ends to see if they are worth persevering with. We still have 3 league games to play so let's give a few guys a chance to see what they can do. The pressure is off.

IMO if an on form Stokesy had played in this match instead of Jason, we would most certainly have made the final! Unfortunately now at Blackburn but we needed somebody like him who would 'last out' the 90 mins compared with Jason's usual futile Hampden 50-60 mins until exhausted! However, the Hoops are in that final as expected and I think the Dons will have to play far better than the did yesterday to stop another Celtic 'treble' materialising TBF. It's a pity we're not there all the same.

Dohhhhhhh!!! IS THAT SOOOOOOO!!!?? Lol!! Laugh I think most of us realise that fact and what was intimated in thread #24 (of course you wouldn't understand that anyway based on that unnecessary stupid last remark huhhh!!) - a lack of clinical finishing very obvious dohhhhhh!!! Tongue Now surprise us and say something seriously constructive for a change!! Cool

Make no mistake, their defence was 'rocking' and Boyle's particular 'miss' from that great Holt flick would've been well deserved! As said previously, the Scottish Cup final will be poorer without that terrific Hibs support that never fails to amaze!!

Yeah Boyles chance I was screaming for him to go down under the challenge and give the ref a big decision to make in the dying seconds.

The way the sheep where falling over and going down yesterday was a joke

We had a great view of that Boyly 'miss' from the East Stand hfcb and seriously it was an exquisite 'set up'/flick by Holt, a perfect bounce and the ball was begging to be 'skelped' in the bottom right hand corner of the Dons' net - I agree I'd rather seen him collide with that desperate Don's challenge rather than 'take a touch' and overrun it but he should've scored - he had to hit it first time and chose not to do so!

Ball bounced off boyles leg after he hurdled the tackle i think, but id need to see it again. Think it was just unlucky,he played well yesterday, his ball in for the 1st hibs goal was a stunner.

Nahh Jim! He had that striker's 'split second moment' to hit the shot before the challenge came in. The ball 'sat up nicely' and it's likely the incoming challenge put him off doing that! As said previously, we had a great view of that pivotal moment and it was that crucial! Still, it wasn't to be and Hibs were not gonna stop Celtic's onslaught on a domestic 'treble' anyway IMO although I hope the Dons 'give it a good go' because they've had some dreadful luck down the years in this tourney as well - a 'tall order' but there's always a wee chance of possibly succeeding in any final!

If celtic play like they did the 1st half today in the final they will destroy aberdeen.

Just a final point about yesterday. The size/height of the Aberdeen players was quite noticeable I thought. We tried playing the ball in the air for some reason and we were 2nd to virtually every ball till Holt came on of course. I never understood a manager/coach with a relatively small team height wise trying to pump balls into the box unless u have the players to play that way and we don't. (Cummings, Keatings, Boyle, McGinn, Fyvie, McGeough etc.) Just sayin!

The Cup always throws up the chance of a shock but tbh I can't see Aberdeen giving Smeltic too many problems.
They never really gave us any in the semi-final. We did most of the damage ourselves quite frankly.
