Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm

Aye! We should really be 10 pts, or an even greater a pts gap than that, but we are not for various reasons. I hope Lenny can reorganise things to cope with this current glut of fixtures that has been unwelcome due to this injury situation that has gradually unfolded with little respite apart from thankfully McGinn's early recovery and Fyvie's eventual return.

The emergency loan system was specifically set up for the kinda unlucky scenario that Hibs have experienced and they are not minor injuries either!! And our best younger defenders will be gradually developed and nurtured in a controlled way and I'm sure they will be given a chance IF they are considered to be good enough.

Callum Booth?

Jordan Forster.......were very close to losing him? Convinced if we hadn't won the Cup he would have been offski after Plymouth.

The only thing I can add about Ambrose is that neil Lennon always played him for Celtic so he must like him as a player. Hopefully it will all work out for HFC let's get behind the guy and support him in his role with us.

Last time I saw Ambrose he played his best stuff at Celtic when Lennon was there. His problem I think is that he tries to play too much football for a centre half at times.

Granted Hibs are using the system but a bit unfair on the rest of the championship clubs and their own younger members of playing staff. Surely Hibs, with their state of the art  facility at East Mains can promote one of their up and coming youngsters from the 20's squad to the first team?. This loan signing does not send out a very good message if you are one of those youngsters, says to me that the powers that be do not think you are good enough.

Its so unfair Dundee utd tried to use the same method to sign connor sammon. We have one (1) fit centre half ffs.

i can see the extenuatin g circumstances at our club but we shouldnae be in this position. Lenny wanted tae strenghthen our squad,we had the opportunity tae strengthen our squad in january but the tight arses that run our club chose no' tae. do i agree wi' the emergency loan system?. naw , but its in the rules and like it or lump it Hibs are quite entitled tae use it. personally i think clubs should announce their squads at the start o' the season wi' nae transfers or loans till the end o' the season. the only exception being bringing in out of contract players. i personally think its embarrasing that a club o' our size needs emergency loans tae get out this pishy league. we should be that far ahead now that we could afford tae lose every remaining game and still get promoted. rant over. We had 4 fit first team CB choices though. That should be enough for most clubs to get them through the season. Our best young CB prospect is out on loan. We have just been very, very unlucky, and as we are going to have to play an untested defence in these crucial games I think its only fair we get a chance to get someone decent in short term.

Also another CB brian mclean has also joined us as a free agent. Which may well suggest (and I hope I'm wrong) that the 3 injured guys seasons might be over.

It's the nature of these injuries that is most irritating Jim and it is damn unlucky TBF! Btw Hibs have a limited budget and why shouldn't they use the emergency loan process anyway!!? Hibs didn't exactly ask for these major injuries! Re the past Jan transfer scenario, my only gripe was not acquiring Commons as I perceived his signing as 'huge' in contributing to a positive end of season! It wasn't financially feasible to do it. Ambrose will be a decent acquisition under Lenny's guidance.

Don't no how much truth in this but apparently Neil Lennon has brought in Brian McLean on a short term deal also just heard this !

Yep! Both deals confirmed! IMO a good piece of business under the current circumstances and esp after Hanlon suffering a supposed 'trapped nerve prob' when carrying out final prep for his comeback to the 1st team.
