We are in real bother defensively, with the rumour being fontaine has ankle ligament damage. Mcgregor is also suspended for the ayr game.

I think for Wednesday we have to go with a back 3 including crane, mcgregor and gray. Unless lennon can work some magic on another emergency loan.

Its all hands to the pump now!

And no sooner have I spoke than efe Ambrose is set to sign on as an emergency loan signing. He will likely go straight into the side Wednesday night.

An absolute farce IMO. Granted Hibs are using the system but a bit unfair on the rest of the championship clubs and their own younger members of playing staff. Surely Hibs, with their state of the art facility at East Mains can promote one of their up and coming youngsters from the 20's squad to the first team?. This loan signing does not send out a very good message if you are one of those youngsters, says to me that the powers that be do not think you are good enough.

You might be right IJ but I think it's comes down to a seasoned Proffesional player is always gonna play first HFC must get out this league this year and Neil Lennon can't afford to play untried players at the business time of the season.

Sad but true this's why I've said for years we must reintroduce the Reserve Team Football it's to big a step for the youngsters o step p fron Development Football to the first team squad

No choice for Lenny and it confirms what I previously suggested re an emergency loan poss being taken up. No rules broken as we have been unusually hammered on the half back position anyway! I'll take Ambrose 'at the drop of a hat' and I'm glad Lenny has a good association with Celtic in order to make it happen! Is there another decent CB available because we've lost three CBs!? Also weaning our young players is far different from 'throwing them in at the deep end' and letting them swim! Then you risk killing off all confidence in these lads rather than gradually developing skills, confidence and well being through time.

I get what you're saying bounce and understand that Hibs must get up this season, just think if I was a young Hibs player, say playing centre half and captaining the 20's, I would be more than pissed off if I was overlooked by a loan signing, who cannae get a game for his own team for love than money and TBH, a player who is renowned for more than the odd calamitous balls up.

Fair does but still think Lenny did have a choice- confidence in an up and coming star or go for the tried and tested, who TBH, is pretty poor at best of times. When Hearts went into admin, Locke never had much of an option other than to play several young lads and toss them in at the deep end. IMO, that did not have an adverse affect on those youngsters progression, development or confidence.

I don't see the problem with this. We have fonts/jordan/hanlon all out for the foreseeable future and mcgregor suspended for the cup game, bartley isn't comfortable at CB. So We need at least one established CB brought in to help out.

crane is a young left sided defender who could well be playing in these up and coming games. The idea that we should have to pitch in another 1 or 2 young defenders with him in the run in to the season to be fair to the other clubs just doesn't seem realistic.

I totally agree. What's good for one footie club certainly doesn't mean it would be the same for another anyway. The emergency loan system was specifically set up for the kinda unlucky scenario that Hibs have experienced and they are not minor injuries either!! And our best younger defenders will be gradually developed and nurtured in a controlled way and I'm sure they will be given a chance IF they are considered to be good enough.

Is it fair to compare a club going into admin with a club suffering a serious injury crisis? I'm not sure. And those hertz kids confidence might not have been damaged but the results on the field weren't very good.

That said we should be home and hosed already, the fact we aren't and with cup games lurking on top of tho crisis makes me feel very uneasy.
