That was always going to happen Newhavenhibby unfortunately when a player starts making headlines for a loan club.

But hopefully HFC can find the money for him and his relationship with Neil Lennon will help to sway his mind to stay until the end of the season also Leanne Dempster will heavily involved with disscussions surely that will help the cause

I really like how he shows such desire to make things happen, get into the box and get on the end of things. Our other midfielders should take note.

Rodgers has said he can go,whilst he still has loads of ability he doesn't have the legs for celtics current style of play. If theres any chance to keep him for the rest of the season we should take it.

A great result today and it places us in a reasonably comfortable position but there's no room for complacency. However, I'm 'cheesed off' with the latest Hanlon injury and that setback upsets a settled Hibs defence with a defensive record that is currently one of the best in Europe and Hanlon has played a big part in attaining that record. It looks like Fonts will be his natural replacement and we'll just have to get on with it! Kris Commons delivers again in his last game of the agreed loan period and confirms what I'd previously commented before he arrived at ER - he can score crucial goals and excel in the Championship if Lenny can manage to take him for the season compared with other front line Hibs players who scorn too many goal-scoring opps for my liking. Like other Hibs posters, I hope Lenny can work some kinda deal to hold Commons and push on for a Championship title in spite of the Hanlon injury although Fraser Fyvie's brief return has added another positive note to the post match debate.

Apparently some talks will take place on monday, the player has told sky that he would be happy to stay at hibs. I think newhaven is right and it may well come down to whats 'on the table' for him at the end of the window.

I can't see why we couldnt sort something. But if not,we move on. We are good enough to win the title anyway.

Dare I say it Jim - IMO we could have a reasonable push for the Holy Grail again with Commons and certain other returning Hibs players fighting for places again! I know many Hibs fans don't want that additional attraction but that scenario could well prevail! I'd pitch Hibs strongest line up v most SPL opponents incl Rangers TBF!

I don't see why not 0762. Celtic are by far the best side in scotland, aberdeen can be decent when mcinnes is on form but the rest of the sides are nothing special IMO.

I don't expect to retain the cup tbh, going up this season is far more important.

Aye Jim......I don't think we will be anywhere near Hampden come May. Not bothered as the only important fact this season is promotion. The cup is just a distraction which our players can do without.

Unless it takes us another 100+ years to win it again, nothing would ever come close to that feeling  being in the stadium on 21/05/16. It was the most special moment in my watching football history and surpassed games like Villa winning the European Cup. .........even better this season with the press and jambos etc scrabbling round for something to say as their usual cr*p is now off the agenda. Even a loss on Saturday won't take away last May.

So Hibs....lets just go up and if we can maintain most of our present squad we will do as well as any of the other teams in the Premiership. ( except for Celtic of course)

However, would a league and cup double surprise you too much after watching generations of Hibs fans not witnessing Hibs winning the Holy Grail and then suddenly the ill luck that had dogged us for a long, long time turns to dollops of good fortune in the draw and in the ensuing cup matches! It could happen! As Jimmy Greaves used to say - 'It's a funny old game'! Wink

Could be just like waiting for a bus.....ages for one and then 2 come together.

Doubt it though.

In todays EEN Sport back page Neil Lennon now 'playing down' the extent of Hanlon's pelvic injury - optimistic that he could be back sooner rather than later! Thumb up
