Andy Murray - what a true legend!
Andy Murray is estimated to be worth 56m pounds, thats about a third of what STF is worth and while its enough to live very well, its possibly not enough for him to own Hibs and sustain them. I would imagine most of his worth is in property or such investments which in itself makes it difficult to realize his worth if its needed quick.

Where did you pick up that info Saint Charles Owl? The reason I'm asking that question is because I previously read in a tennis article that Murray's earnings from winnings and lucrative sponsorship deals by April 2016 was something in the region of £85M! That's not even a current estimate and his most successful year was last year!

I got it on the internet. it was one of those Forbes type lists.  I would imagine his winnings are pre-tax and also pre- expenses, the number I had was his net worth, so this is investments, property and essentially cash in the bank, his winning may be more than that but he has to spend that to compete and pay his other expenses.  Here is a link to the article and the figures are in $$s:

I'm sure andy has no interest in owning hibs lock stock and barrel so to speak......but he is keen to have a stake in the club going forward. If it comes to fruition that would be great.

Yep! I'd welcome him contributing towards attaining the 50% fan ownership that many of our 'critics' previously scoffed at!

Andy quickly disposes of Rublev's challenge in the Australian Open - an efficient 3 straight sets victory to eliminate a second Russian challenger within a short period! Thumb up The only negative factor is that he tweaked his ankle in the 3rd set and hopefully he'll recover well before his 3rd round match.

Even better news! Djokovic eliminated by a little known player from Uzbekistan! Andy now an odds on favourite to lift the Aussie Open title barring any mishaps! Thumb up

Andy destroys Querrey in 3 sets and the Yank played reasonably well - bring on the 4th round opponent! Thumb up

Well what a shock that was! Andy totally outplayed by an old style serve and volleyer. Wasn't expecting that and it looked like Andy wasn't either.

Bummer....Will have to wait a bit longer for the australian title it seems.
