Hibs v Dundee Utd, Fri 6 Jan, KO 7.45pm
#11
John McGinn made a speedy impact as a sub by scoring Hibs 3rd goal in a generally poor second half. Hibs had numerous breakaway attacks but lacked composure and guile on most occasions. United were better (or Hibs were worse?) but only threatened occasionally.

FT Hibs 3 Dundee United 0 - Hibs are now 4 points clear at the top.

Best performance from HFC in a while thought we excelled all over the park Humpries was a breath of fresh air as a out & out winger thought the movement for the second goal was sheer class good to see young Jason bag a couple it will do his confidence a world of good.

Thought McGeouch & Boyle where top class big Big Marv ran the show making tackles all over the pitch fantastic just love the Big Man.

4 points clear now so lets push on from here but gotta mention what a reception for John McGinn and he repaid the compliment with his goal ............... #HIBSCLASS

Just back and what a good result at this stage of the campaign. Well done to Jason for two well taken goals and a good debut for Chris Humphrey. Also what a classy 3rd goal by John McGinn after all the previous energetic runs of Boyly with no end product to shout about - John Mac showed how a combination of pace, guile and intelligence makes a big difference in scoring an exquisite goal and I just hope that there were not many predatory talent scouts watching the match! Big Marv definitely the MOTM in a fairly combative midfield where he took a few 'hits' but, by gum, he didn't give them a moment's rest during this game - what a solid shift by the big man particularly during the 2nd half when Hibs were making sure they held that 2 goal advantage at all cost! 3 pts 'in the bag' and lets push on for the title now! Thumb up

Great result for Hibs but any thoughts or comments on the after match incidents regarding fans injured?

I finally watched Lenny's post match interview and he was certainly ecstatic as he should be but touched on Hibs playing the other matches to a similar commitment and standard - Hibs are a better team than United and must try to push on and win the Championship with a bit of style! Lenny also unsure re Commons' status but I'm damn sure he'll be trying to retain him until season end or possibly go for the other option of bringing back Hendo.

We've been crying out for pace and width...and well you see the result. Lennons addressed our problems I think which reassures me he knows what he's doing and gives me faith we will go on and win the league now.

Some really badly hurting Huns in the pub afters too. Their tears were delicious but they really need to let go now eh?

Some Utd casuals got a spanking. Big deal.

In fact the Utd casuals went looking for a fight at tamsons. Boy they must be regretting that the day.!

Commons was a bit quiet last night, maybe something to do with his heavy cold eh ?

Time to kick on now,we should be miles ahead already barring flipping refereeing decisions. Note lennon praising boyles contribution. I think the manager thinks he lacks a bit of confidence and he's always trying to big him up.

I must say I can't fault Boyly for any lack of effort and commitment. It's a lack of that bit of quality at the end of his moves that can irritate many Hibs fans!

As you know i'm a fan of boyles, i think he has something and he was a great 'out' for us in the 2nd half. He always tries to beat his man and he did well last night. The manager said he feels he's a player that just lacks a bit of confidence which is why his final ball lets him down a bit.

It was noticeable just how comfortable the team looked last night,i was a bit surprised at the selection but it worked a treat. I think with 2 genuine wingers in the team we will start destroying teams.
