Pretty inevitable given the makeshift line-up. Hope we can keep our momentum going in the league to make up for having not taken tonight seriously.

That team selection tonight showed a complete lack of respect for the fans who had travelled. We shouldn't have sold tickets if there was never any intention to even try to win. Anichebe in defensive midfield is taking the piss, Tony. What a joke.

Playing them once every 6 months, where some are not even in their natural position, is not giving them a fair chance. In fact (as I mentioned earlier) the cynic in me just thinks Pulis wants an excuse to never play them again, and so he set them up to fail tonight.

I find it telling that Pulis would play such a weak and downright strange starting line-up but not even put any real quality on the bench to change the game.

Didn't expect much tonight. Was on the verge of going, but didnt
I still feel. Poco could give us something in terms of squad depth, however brunt is going well at LB.

Ditto Sess in an attacking role, however, when the back 4 plays with each other once every 4 months in a competitive game away from. Home, against a decent side, I don't think I can expect anyone to perform, and alas sounds like we underperformed

Take pulis for this year and next, and start saving some funds to rebuild a whole Prem squad at the end of next year, based around Rondon and Mcmanaman, as Evans / Lambert / Fletcher / Mcauley / Olson will all be finished and brunt and morrison not far off, especially in their respective positions.

Feel for the 700+ fans who went to be honest. We should be fined for putting that team out.
Playing the biscuit man in midfield and a further 3 out of position just about sums it up.
Despite media comments saying we would give it a go in the cups we obviously won't !
Puts more pressure on the Everton game now.
To be honest we were awful against Vale so just proves the squad isn't good enough.
