In the ruling it states that the match will be decided on that night, no replays at all, that rules out a grab for money.
Having said that, how can they rule that no replay can take place, that is against the competition rules and makes no sense!! If the tie is to be started from the beginning then surely a draw aftwer 90 minutes should result in a replay!! It is a strange verdict they have come up with and now gives them a full house for this event - Bury/Droylesden kicked out of competition, Bradford allowed to go through upon appeal and Chesterfield now forced to replay the game. Certainly gives them options for future transgressions!!
Nothing the FA does makes sense. MK Dons and Wolves gave Chesterfield there full support in the appeal. MK Dons don't want a cup match because they want to focus on getting out of League 1 and Chesterfield fans don't want another match because those who went have wasted money on travel and on tickets and not many people can afford to fork out again around Christmas time.
There is talk the game will be replayed on 3rd January when the 3rd rounds are being played and if its 0-0 after 90 mins then its ET and penalties.

To be fair, Chesterfield should be providing free tickets and club travel for this "new" game to all those fans who went to the first match!! If the fans do not wish to go or are not able to then fair enough, but those who can should not be expected to pay twice!! I don't know how many fans you took to the first game, but it can't be that many!!
Of course, if MKD really don't want this game then they are at liberty to forfeit it as well, saving everyone the time and money to replay it!!

Took 1,125 fans to MK. I can't see us taking that number again in the replay can't see a big attendance at the game at all. If they had it at a neutral venue somewhere between Chesterfield and MK Dons would probably be better.

Out of curiosity why do Chesterfield fans not want this tie?? Aside from the cost, winning this game gives you a winnable game in the next round and maybe after that a glamour tie against a prem team, why would you give that up?? With all due respect, MKD are chasing promotion, so I can see it from their perspective, but you are midtable, surely a cup run is a welcome thing??

This ineligible player lark is a load of bollocks. You had the player on loan already. It's not like he signed the day before and the paperwork didn't go through. And Wolves had given him permission to play. The inconsistency from the FA is a bit poor.
Is he now eligible to play for Wolves in the 3rd round, having already played for Chesterfield?

Most of them don't want it because of the cost and I would say a small minority think that we should be kicked out because we broke the rules.

MK Dons ought to do the decent thing and field a reserve team. After all we beat them fair and square ,Magreitter was our player before and after that game so we had no advantage whatsoever.

The goal will be scrapped as the match is counted as void but I think bookings still count which is odd. No one is sure if Margreitter can play for Wolves in the 3rd round, the FA probably don't even know as by the looks of things they make it up as they go along and hope for the best.
Wolves gave Chesterfield verbal permission to allow Margreitter to play in the 2nd round vs MK Dons now Wolves were suppose to send paperwork to Chesterfield to be signed to then be sent to the FA and Chesterfield had no paperwork now in my eyes Wolves are in the wrong for not supposedly not sending the paperwork but then Chesterfield are in the wrong for not chasing up the paperwork.

They can't do that because if they play a weakened team then they will be fined by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute.

It does seem an odd decision. Clearly they felt they couldn't kick us out. Equally they felt the need to uphold their own unnecessarily bureaucratic rules. So they reached a compromise which suits no one, seems to leave the rules in doubt and leaves questions unanswered (like Margreitter's future participation in the Cup for Wolves, as the status of our game is now in doubt). As there have to be replays in second round matches, our MKD game cannot have been deemed not to have happened, as the game now has to be played to a finish (disadvantaging the away team?). So if the MKD game happened what was it and so Margreitter is cup-tied for Wolves to whom we intend to return him?
Have I even understood this?
When I ran an amateur football team I tended to think many of the local FA's honest decisions were implemented to uphold pointless rules and leave the teams involved feeling dissatisfied with the procedure.
I also have experience of two games being ordered to be replayed and both ended up with winning side losing, largely because the players felt cheated by the decision in the first place ......

Would you all have felt differently if you'd drawn Man Utd at home instead of Worcester or Scunthorpe?
