I think that match showed the difference that just a small injection of confidence can make. We lurched from a disaster start to seventy minutes of exasperating dross, but once that bit of luck went our way with the keeper throwing Grant's shot into the net, we were on fire for the last twenty. The second goal was a thing of beauty, not least Grant's finish. I hope we can turn that to our advantage now, and that Karlan will keep those coming.

Overall we deserved it today, were much the better team, despite the fortunate nature of our first goal.

The only worry is that first half we created plenty of presentable opportunities without scoring again. Thought Johnstone's positioning was poor for the goal too. No man's land.

IMO Hugill has to start based on the past 3 home games.

Okay, he started against Preston away and wasn't brilliant, including his shoddy finish... But we've seen enough in the last 3 home games that we look better with a big man up top who can lay the ball off with back to goal like he did for our 2nd goal. The defenders just need a proper striker to defend against.

We saw the same last year when Diagne came. When the ball stuck up top a bit more, it helped to bring the best out of Pereira. Phillips does a decent job up there but it's not his natural position.

I wasn't happy with Ismael's decision to leave Grant on and take Grady off. Thought Grant was basically non existent first half. But fair play, his 2nd goal was a decent finish on his wrong foot. Hopefully he can prove me wrong because I'd pretty much dismissed him as £15m overpriced. But it gives me hope that he might be able to contribute more in this division.

Really need a goalscorer in January if we're in the hunt for automatic...

Val deserves a pay rise.
Removes several high earners
Considerably slimmed down the squad
Sold our best player for double what we paid
Raised millions of pounds for our the club
Zero spend on transfer fees
Lost none of the first nine games
Sits proudly on top of the league.

The garbage I'm reading on other sites is a joke, I think those calling for Val's sacking are seals or dingles.
I'm sometimes sorry to be a supporter of a club with such so called fans.

Well I enjoyed my visit to the shrine and was rewarded with a win.

I had been suggesting we bring Button on to replace Grant at half time.

What do I know ?????

I must admit i was getting concerned with the draws even though we were'nt losing. After thier first goal I thouht another draw with having so much more possesion - as other games - it would be confidence sapping and we'd drop down the league. However up pops Grant with TWO goals - two, after only scoring One in a year. Hope that is the inspiration he needs for him and the rest of the team. Now 2nd Thumb up

News for tonight's squad Hugill and Robinson start at the expense of Phillips and Diangana. Must admit I don't quite get it replacing two wingers with a striker and a striker/winger, but thats why VI is the manager and I sat at home, I would still like to see Robinson, Phillips and Diangana. start.

Albion: Johnstone, Ajayi, Bartley, Townsend, Furlong, Livermore, Mowatt, Reach, Robinson, Hugill, Grant Subs: Button, Kipre, Bryan, Gardner-Hickman, Molumby, Phillips, Diangana.
