Agree with Josh. It was great to watch and, though I’m no fan of him, Allardyce deserves some credit. But, it needed a few things to go right for us:
1. Gallagher not available meant that Periera was finally played it the middle.
2. The sending off before the injury to Ivanovic meant that we finally saw Robinson. Had it been the other way round, I have no doubt that Peltier would have come on with 2 subs used up.

It was a joy to see MP in the middle with runners off him able to find space for his passes. Why did it take Allardyce 16 games to do this, and what are the odds that next week sees MP wide right with Robinson on the bench?

"I am delighted - not only with the win, but the style," Allardyce said.

"It has been coming for a while, but our lack of finishing has cost us. What we saw today is what we have been missing. The quality of our goals and our football brought us a fantastic result. We were desperate for it.

"We started really well, we pressed and didn't sit back. I had three weeks to think about this game and sort the tactics. We said, 'Let's go, let's go challenge them' and it worked extremely well."

Hindsight is a wonderful thing eh, Sam. So setting up with 9 defensive players was going for it?? Due to injuries you were forced to play people who you have ignored and play others in their correct positions. Please go now while on a high so we can start to rebuild for next season.

Don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see the Vile score three goals

I love seeing Villa score 3 goals - but only when they lose 4-3 (last minute ideally)

Newcastle win. Not good.
It will be interesting to see if we look as motivated tomorrow after that.

I think the Newcastle win has sealed our fate tbh Sad
All we can do is try and salvage some pride by finishing above Fulham imho! We would need to win the majority of our remaining 8 games against the likes of Leicester Liverpool villa and wolves not too mention high flying West Ham ?

That's the wind taken out of my sails - I knew it was almost impossible to overtake Newcastle.

Burnley was probably the easiest of their final set of games and they took advantage of it.
