So the likelihood is that you will get kicked out but it would be interesting to know exactly what Bradford said or presented to get their punishment overturned!!
Could we be kicked out of the FA Cup?

We will get kicked out - even though we dobbed ourselves in.
The real fault is the unnecessary bureaucracy in a competition which is dying on its feet. If you get knocked out on paper then it is the competition that suffers as well the foolish club. I'll provide a simple solution - LOAN players are not allowed to play for the club they are loaned to in the FA Cup. And then we wouldn't risk the ridiculous scenario of a team which loans in one of Chelsea's excellent unconsidered players, who then carries his new team all the way to the final ..... and Chelsea says you can't play against us .... ruining the day for all football fans, their own player etc. It's a simple game. Played on grass not paper. If it had just been our players out there in the cup, we would probably still have won ..... and we could have been looking at Worcester away and a big club in the fourth round.

If we weren't sure then we shouldn't have played Margreitter and put Hird and Raglan at the back. If Evatt was 100% fit Margreitter I don't think would have played.
FA need to bring in the rule that no loan players are allowed in the FA Cup or any cup competition, instead of having this patchy grey area. At the end of the day I think the FA make it up as they go along.

This is easily solved by having clauses in the initial loan documents that cover what happens in the event of games in various cup competitions. Each competition can be listed and a simple yes or no added to each one!!

You are so right St Charles, I've just been saying the same myself in the local shop.
Unfortunately administrators love rules and paper work. If you approach a carpenter all his solutions involve woodwork and if you have an appointment with a surgeon the solution will see you on the operating table .... This is what you get with too much administation. Really loans if they are to exist ought to be made in good faith, cover all competitions and permission to play against the club that owns their services. If you don't want to risk playing against your own player DON'T LOAN HIM OUT. As the loan market stands, a club of immense wealth could buy loads of players, loan them to all the teams in their division unlikely to be involved in the title race (in order to take points of their actual challengers) and avoid playing against those players themselves ...... effectively buying the title. Football from amateur levels to the top is rule-bound. The petty and sly has always won out over the honest and excellent. Rules are administered because they exist and no one questions whether the game or the individuals/teams involved derive any benefit, but I'm afraid that is symptomatic of society at large. Football, if it were less Victorian, could resolve such issues at a stroke. It might be salutary for the FA if MKD went on to win the Cup having been knocked out by a better team on the day in round two.

You've got lucky match to be replayed
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

Nobody wants to play the match though. MK Dons don't want it and Chesterfield fans don't want it. Would have been easier just to kick us out.

As probably Droylsden do as well

The FA are inconsistent they can't change it for different teams and make it up as they go along. They need to put a rule in that if any team plays an ineligible player then that team will be kicked out of the competition. FA, FIFA, UEFA are all a joke, corrupt and run by idiots. The only reason that the FA want this match replayed is because the FA get a cut of the ticket receipts, its money that's all they care about. Money is ruining football and the FA need to take a good, long, hard look at themselves.

While I understand your sentiment Matt, there is one flaw in your argument that the game is being replayed so that the FA get their cut of the gate receipts. In the ruling it states that the match will be decided on that night, no replays at all, that rules out a grab for money.
Having said that, how can they rule that no replay can take place, that is against the competition rules and makes no sense!! If the tie is to be started from the beginning then surely a draw aftwer 90 minutes should result in a replay!! It is a strange verdict they have come up with and now gives them a full house for this event - Bury/Droylesden kicked out of competition, Bradford allowed to go through upon appeal and Chesterfield now forced to replay the game. Certainly gives them options for future transgressions!! |
