the old bbc 606 site

heavily monitored and we we never allowed to speak our minds
those were the days

Looking back at how 606 was moderated, it gives me even more appreciation for our moderator Ska’d.

On 606 they were way too strict and very inconsistent. I for example was banned a couple of times for telling certain trolling posters exactly where to go yet fireymoose would insult and belittle his fellow Albion supporters, including myself, and never face any repercussions.

You leave the great FireyM alone ya dumb witted cross eyed tosser  Big Grin  Laugh  Laugh  Laugh

you forgot to mention ugly.....Smile Smile Smile

Norwich game is almost a sell-out. I hope our fans there can create a great atmosphere.

Isn't it weird in the Prem, we rarely sold out! In the Championship, were competitive but not world breaking and the fans are flocking back and actually enjoying the football? My old mans a STH for over 50 years and swears he enjoys this more than the Prem, he's even said he would like to win the league and stay in this league as we are competitive, entertaining and it makes for a more interesting trip to the shrine!!

It's a funny old thing (ambition). It's a kick in the teeth to all the ambitious fans, players, Management Staff, etc, to say you actually prefer the Championship............but I've said it on here before: I actually enjoy the excitement and fight for promotion with full houses; I enjoy coming away from the Ground with a smile on my face (unlike The Pulis Years!). When it comes down to it, the football played at this level is as good as the old 1st Division of yesteryear. Foreigners have obviously improved the Premier, but I don't get ecstatic watching Salah, Silva, Hazard, etc., - I prefer players who give their all for the shirt.
Pragmatically we'll never compete at the Top End again, and although we're 11th in The All-Time League, and I'm proud of that, none of the Clubs other than the Top 7 or 8 are ever going to seriously bother our Standing even in 50 years time.
I'm not your Dad, am I, OneTrue?? Confused

(Can't wait to get promoted in May, mind. Confused )

It's a tricky one because this is probably our level in truth, but when you look in the Prem and see Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, Cardiff, C.Palace, Fulham, Huddersfield, Watford in their, are they any bigger than us? They've all earn't the right to be their but come May, you'd hope to be replacing one of these surely!!!
You then look at some of the teams in the Championship, Villa, Leeds, Sheff Weds/Utd, Derby, M'Boro, Forest, Stoke, Blackburn, Norwich. There really is a sandwich between all of the above named with few places in the greed league up for grabs. I know history states 11th all time, but history also shows Liverpool won the top flight nearly 30 years ago, I'm not sure what my point is, I love the championship, hate the premiership and all it stands for but being at the top table is unfortunately where its at!!
That said I would bite your arm off for an FA cup win over promotion, cue screaming comments!! Whistle

Brilliant couple of posts above!
Says it all, really.
Personally I actually hate the whole bollocks (sorry BV) surrounding the PL. It's so money, and media, driven now that all the players seem to have massively inflated egos...... now to the point where I (perhaps wrongly) group them all together as spoilt, selfish brats who would sell their granny for a few more pennies to add to their millions in their overseas accounts.
Perhaps it IS only 95% or so of them.....
Unfortunately I've got to the stage of hating even looking at still pictures of them, let alone watching MOTD!

Yeh, the Championship suits me fine.
Do I want us to go up?
AAAAAAGH!! YES!!
