Hope you are right Bounce. Certainly shows the strength we have in depth up front at present which can only be good when injuries and suspensions come along.

Just noticed the other thread about fans coming back has been closed sadly but any how great to see the fans again turning out in big numbers to suppprt HFC.
14;500 v the bottom of the league team is brilliant well done the fans. Noticed Wattie not been posting for a while he always sAid if HFC got it right on the park the fans would come back.

Yes great attendance again.
I see Lennon is moaning a little about it being a bit quiet and not encouraging the side especially after going a goal up. Easter Road is noisy when we play the cat A sides and maybe Dundee United, Aberdeen etc but apart from that the atmosphere and noise is not usually great....as Lennon says.....fans sit back and wait for something to happen . ![]() ![]() GGTTH

Yeah I agree with Lennon yesterday the atmosphere was really flat I put it down to no opposition fans to wind up think they said st mirren had 300 fans yesterday I think fans bounce off each other with the songs.
The away support is always very vocal for HFC. Maybe HFC should ask fans for suggestions off tunes to be played over the PA system when they score to maybe encourage more fans to join in. Think I'm right in sayin celtic do that for the green brigade they hand out club colours flags etc I'm not saying we copy celtic just saying it seems to work for them. GGTTH

You are certainly right re the difference between home and away supports - been like that for years TBF! Away support bouncing a lot more in certain matches.

As much as i didn't like it,lennon was right with what he said about the atmosphere. I just don't think a lot of fans are that inspired by the championship games, they expect us to win with minimum fuss.
Bounce is on the right lines, if we gain promotion this season id like to see a properly set up singing section preferably with a standing option at easter road. But i really think Cummings wasn't playing well and doing enough off the ball for the team so the managers dropped him....and thats it. These things happen. I like jason but he needs to realise there is only going to be one winner between him and lennon if the stories of dissent are true. He needs to work hard in training and stay focussed, thats always whats held him back though. The other guys have worked hard and deserved their chance.

Re Lenny's rightful criticism of the poor atmosphere at ER, you're right re the proper organisation of a singing section but IMO Hibs FC has actually contributed to that sterile atmosphere anyway. They weren't proactive enough in favouring a properly organised singing section somewhere within the stadium. Also they banned the use of banners etc, which alienated many Hibs fans who wanted to try to change it and encourage lotsa other Hibs supporters of a similar ilk to join in and improve things for the better!! I'm gonna try to debate this issue with Hibs officials at the AGM esp with Neil Lennon being there. My suggestion would be go to Germany and take in a couple of Bundesligue matches - the difference in atmosphere is 'night n day' but of course the German crowds are huge - clearly a big factor but there's still something to learn about the Bundesligue clubs and how they manage their crowds and allow their fans to contribute to the 'special atmosphere' within their stadia - all part of their sales pitch! IMO this problem can be tackled by some cute management within our fully modernised stadium that has so much more to offer in that respect! Also introduce 'standing sections'? I'd luv to see significant moves to bring back a properly controlled standing section for fans who wanna embrace that kinda initiative. Lets face it, we have thousands of regular away fans who provide a far better atmosphere than we generally observe at ER Stadium. I'm sure that most of these fans attend Hibs home games but they are spread out across the stadium. Our footie club has to be far more proactive in attracting those fans, and others, to provide a 'main focal point' of solid vocal support within a chosen part of the stadium that will maximise the noise effect and ultimately spur on the players to play well and win testy games.

Even if the made the Famous 5 stand the main vocal point of Easter Rd to start with that way it's easy to control there's a bar inside the stand to get the guys a few beers before the game . Imo that's why the away support is much more vocal because their pumped up with having a few bevvies before the game. I. Better no mention this to my wee grandson (7) soon as he hears the drum banging he away in his own world. Funny like he loves the Warburton song his dad's face is epic hahahahahaha GGTTH

I can see more grounds copying Celtics lead and have a standing section. You will find these "old kop" style areas where fans are close will encourage more singing which will spread to other areas of the ground and so create more atmosphere. This is not purely an ER problem but an all seater stadia problem.
The " singing section" were better when they were at the top of the East.....more people would join in and the acoustics were better being under the stand roof. GGTTH
