Think it's time for the club to stand up to these rumour-mongerers and shit-sirrers, and Mr Warburton's fired a fine opening salvo. Let's see what they have to say for themselves in response.
I think the worst thing you could do as a club is to give these stories any credibility by commenting on them. Warburton will get asked about it as he does press conferences, and he has answered those questions with little room for further debate, but the club should stay out of it. At the end of the day the media will print speculation about anything connected to football, you see it in every paper, every day, Warburton has answered it, leave it at that.

Yes SCO, let's just let them say whatever they want, let them undermine the club, let them continually lie to the fans and present absolute fantasies as truth. Yes, that's what we should do.
Mark Warburton said it perfectly: Appalling.

We call it the Sun or The Mirror in England. Its what they do, its how they operate and no amount of bleating from the club is going to stop that!!! Look at the Scott Allen situation where the shoe was on the other foot, until Hibs started commenting on it it was a non-story, and in the end he left anyway. This is speculation that goes on every time a manager is fired, take it as a compliment that he is even being mentioned but Warburton has answered it, leave it as that. I fail to see how this is undermining the club anyway?? Celtic lost to Molde last week and all the papers were suggesting he may be fired, that is no different to this, its just pure speculation and paper talk, it will always be there!!!
Besides, none of us know Warburton, if Fulham did make an approach with a very lucrative offer and a war chest for transfers in January, then he might be tempted, we just don't know for sure. The club would look stupid if they vehemently denied it at this point and then it became true!! How many times have we seen owners give a manager a vote of confidence only to then fire then not long after?? If you make a stink about this, then you will be as guilty of making it a story as the reporter who originally wrote it, it will get prolonged, Warburton will have to keep on denying it and it won't help anyone. Let it die, but expect it to happen again the next time a Championship manager is fired.

RM : Bears' Den : #1062950460 Mark Warburton To Aston Villa ? ... No Chance.

Thanks for your comments, guys ...
... to 'Blue Avenger', I find the thought of MW going to Aston Villa to work for that clown Lerner risible.
Team MW are at Rangers and are staying put.
I said in my OP that Mark Warbuton could be here for 10 years minimum based on his age now (53).
Returning Rangers to the pinnacle and playing in Europe every Season would be the achievement of the work Team MW are doing and would also be the reason to stay at Rangers for the long term ... why abandon it ?
As I said in the thread title, there is No Chance of MW going to AVFC and I doubt if he would go to any other EPL club either.
He might consider England though, but not for a long while yet.
Further to that, if he would not be tempted by an EPL Club, why would MW want to go to a Level 2 (Championship) club in England ?

I don't actually think he is proven enough to even get an offer from a Premier league club anyway, the Villa talk was again though all speculation. The Championship in England is where any likely offers will come from but as you say I think he will stick it out with Rangers for as long as he can and try to get them back to the top of the Scottish game. Of course come the end of this season Aston Villa will be looking for a new manager again but by then will be a Championship side, so right up his street!!!
Having said that the Newcastle job might be available soon, maybe he would be tempted by that one???

I have to veer off-topic to answer that, SCO, which I will do with another post of mine, this time from AVillaFan.
#336883 Chelsea V Aston Villa : Posted by Larry-AV on 04/10/2015 in The Big Match
Dimitri posted (maybe over a year ago now) that Chelsea 'got lucky with a billionaire', which is true.
Now there is no difference between Chelsea and Aston Villa, except that AVFC got unlucky with a billionaire.
The contrasting records of Chelsea and Aston Villa reflect the desire of Abramovich to see Chelsea as the top team in the EPL and Europe, against the lack of honest ambition, interest and investment Aston Villa has and continues to suffer, (no) thanks to Lerner.
Aston Villa need a new owner, not a new manager.
Rangers, fortunately, need neither.

To be fair, Abramovich is about 10 times wealthier than Lerner, but both are billionaires so shouldn't matter too much. The clues with Lerner were there, you only have to look at the Cleveland Browns, his other sports team. They are perennial underachievers, badly run, make surprising and ultimately bad coaching appointments and due to their being no relegation from the NFL they seem happy to finish near the bottom!! All this while raking in a fortune like every other NFL team. Owners need to have the same ambition as the fans have, with maybe a little more realism.

Hardly any manager stays anywhere 10 years now larry. Warburton is at rangers to raise his stock down south and he will be off when that's at its optimum. The very notion that he would knock back an EPL job is ludicrous. Almost as ludicrous as him being offered one in the first place.
By the way fulham have said they were not quoted accurately about warburton.
