Snoots I agree with all your points bar CBs. Hudson was ponderous, gave the ball away countless times, lost the header for the goal and his performance rubbed off on lynch who was just as bad. They looked like they hadn't played together. Jimbo oh contrare I am not one of deanos followers. He's done great things for the club but if he lets smithies go for less then £4m and we don't reinvest in a quality centre back or another goalkeeper I will be seriously questioning the direction of this club and we will be in danger of not only going down but not coming back up again any time soon.

Insipid and uninspiring is how I'd sum up today, we set up a bit more attacking with Scannell starting in a 4-3-3 formation. We had a good 2 minutes, took the lead, then that was it, again n pattern to our play, too many backwards and sideways passes, everything pedestrian, our breakaway play awful, just no intensity or tempo.
Today was crying out for us to play 4-4-2 with Scannell and Hammill on the wings, with Dempsey in midfield with Whitehead relegated to the bench. It's no secret that Blackburn haven't had a good start, lost Gestede sold to Villa, Rhodes unsettled, there for the taking today. The lack of ambition today in the second half to get the game won was criminal.

 - How much input does Chris Bowell have in all this......does he not buy the players - does he not train them......does he not discuss tactics with them......and finally is it not his decision to choose the team and decide the formation ?
Well to me he aint got it right this season so far.......well wide of the mark......and it appears he does have a big stripe of "park the bus" running through his veins or a "I don't like you" mentality...
Smithies is gone - done deal......so where will the 3m quid for both him and Coady be spent - or will it be spent ?
We need players that we can slot into the team now......not youngster who will be loaned out to Colon United "for experience" - We don't need journeymen (who probably say "I play every week" we need good solid squad players who want to play for the club and more importantly can do the job they are signed on for straight away at a high level week in week out.....
Brighton next......top of the league......probably win that one knowing Town

Both sides were happy to settle for a point after Blackburn equalised. At least we got an hour of football rather than the 45 mins I witnessed at Blackburn not too long ago.
Their keeper made some good saves to keep us out in both halves, either that or we need a more clinical striker.
WE NEED A MORE CLINICAL STRIKER.
Oggie was saying some tasty afters between Smithies and Vaughan when Vaughan was concussed might be linked to the QPR bid. Might it aldo explain the total absence of a supposedly fit Vaughan yesterday?

Seemed to be what he was on about to me Snoots. I doubt I was the only one listening when he said it.
PS only the most optimistic Brighton fan would have put money on them being the ONLY team not to drop a point in this division after ONLY 2 games. Another reason not to get too down after ONLY getting a point yesterday.

Said that many times. Wells does some terrible stuff at times, his first touch is lousy, his passing and his decision making is questionable as is his finishing.

Wells is the player most of us think he is.
Unfortunately he isn't the player the club thought he was going to be.
For a team that struggles to create loads of chances you need a clinical finisher and Nahki isn't.
For the record, after 3 games and a disrupted pre season Miller has looked far the better striker of the 2

I'm a bit like the coo's tail (always behind), but I might as well put in my tuppence worth on Saturday's game. I have said that the English Championship is a much higher standard than the Scottish Championship, but the Town second half performance wasn't any better than Hibs' normal performance. In fact Town and Hibs are very similar - we both have a few journeymen, a couple of potentially game-changing players, a tendency to lapse into lumping the ball forward aimlessly as the game progresses and a manager who doesn't like making substitutes.
Sean Scannell was outstanding in the first half, tired a bit later, but was still the player most likely to make things happen. Just my opinion here, but what he shouldn't be doing is dropping so far back to cover his full-back when the opposition have the ball. He's an pacy, tricky attacking player - let him do what he's good at. I also liked Butterfield and young Bunn when he came on. I'm sure I recognise Ishmael Miller too - Hibs have Dominique Malonga, who is a big, awkward, lumbering forward who runs about a lot, but achieves very little. They're not related, are they?
Earlier in this thread, Grant Hanley was criticised for his style of play, but Town could do with a player like that. I thought he was up for the game, was uncompromising and a good organiser. The lad Barrow was a nippy little winger who gave the Town defence a bit of trouble and I was glad when he went off - subbed after a blatant dive, probably taken off for his own good. Unfortunately the Rovers equaliser came from one of the subs.
Finally, what about Chris Powell? I can see where the over-defensive criticism comes from and why does he not use his subs to the full? And what's with the tan shoes???
And even more finally, thanks to my hosts, Amelia and Snooty, and I also got to meet Mitzi and Wakey. All in all it was a good day out, even allowing for the disappointing result, and I just might be back again sometime.

Welcome anytime ritchie. I live in Row Z (when I venture North fom Middle England) but on t'other side of the pitch from the posh seats you were sat in and possibly (not sure to be honest) a bit closer to the supposedly northern end of the ground. I think whoever decided what is supposedly North, South, East and West in our ground has never seen, used or owned a compass to be honest. How they find their way home without using balls of chalk or bales of string to mark the way must be a wonder to one and all.
Let me think, the sun sets in the West for the most part of the year according to my old school Geography teacher, the rest of the year it never appears from behind the almost constant cloud and drizzle in Yorkshire, but when it does it is normally behind our South Stand late in the afternoon for most of the season, I think you may get the gist.
