Right. Where do we start with that then? The selection. No quibbles from me with the starting XI. Pipa has just come back from injury, so has Wardy. Wardy played and is now injured again. I'd rather he be out than Pipa. Not that I don't like Wardy, but I think Pipa is so important to how we're going forward in this season.
McBenza, Eiting and Campbell were also dropped to the bench and Carlos will have his reasons for this, but it all goes to show how small our squad is.
The biggest miss today has been Hoggy and this game proved once and for all what a lynchpin to the team this fella is. Let's hope he's back soon.
Now we made some mistakes early on, that cost us the game. But those mistakes weren't coming from reserves. Sarr and Toffolo are first choices, so even if we'd had our strongest possible XI starting, without any injuries, we're still 2 down after 10 minutes or whatever it was, against one of the best teams in the Championship, who've just had half a dozenish seasons in the Premier League.
This was a game we were never going to win with this squad of players. Bad day at the office. Lick us wounds and come out fighting on Wednesday night.

12 shots. 5 on target. We used to dream of stats like that.
Begovic kept them in it and we could easily have been level at half time.
We weren't and so it became damage limitation.

And two of the replacements who came in, Pritch and Adamant, cost us around twenty million. How many Town managers of the past have had that " luxury"?

We've lost before with 20 shots on target, it's also about how many you stop. Don't think Hamer had much chance with the 3 in the first half, still to see what happened in the second half as my feed cut out but it seems by a majority of approximately 5-0 that they were far better at stopping us than we were at stopping them.

Young Diarra certainly didn't look ready yet. Only 17, he was out run by a veteran defender. Quite embarrassing.
Jaden Brown I don't think will play on Wednesday. Didn't look good enough.
Aaron Rowe keeps getting a one off game. Maybe he needs a run of games, but not at Pipa's expense.
Vallejo. Not seen enough yet but gave one particularly bad pass to set up another attack for Bornmuff.

Cheque book out Phil.

Don't think diarra was helped being shoved on the wing in all fairness, probably needed to be in the middle alongside a hogg who could guide him through a game, he was left with an equally inexperienced Rowe behind him. Tbf snoots Adam Smith isn't exactly a veteran, only 29, just been around a while.

Id rather see Rowe play on the wing in front of pipa than playing instead of pipa, feel he needs a loan to league 1 or 2 though in all fairness or even conference if it gives him a decent amount of game time, think a lot of the technical stuff is there, just not the intelligence and physical skills of playing against more experienced guys. Same for diarra tho being 17.

Ive said to a few people duhaney and brown will only go as far as being solid league players, playing at that level consistently might kick start them, but they ain't championship standard at the moment. I know dd didn't play yesterday but he's just one of the players I've said that about like brown

We lost that before a ball was kicked. CC messed up here with his team selection. for me he made too many changes.

Don't get why Vallejo doesn't just come in to replace Hogg, is he the new Herbert Brockhorn?

Why on earth is Jaden Brown our left back now our Left Forward?

Stick a garden gnome in the middle of the park instead of Pritchard, it'd be more use.

Lets hope we win at Cov because he sacrificed this game for that.
