Palmer 3 - At fault for second and third. Not good enough.
Loovens 6 - Got spun in the build up for second goal but had a largely decent game.
Lees 5 - All over the place this season. What's gone wrong?
Pudil 7 - Promising debut. Great cross for Nuhiu's header.
Hutchinson 4 - Stupid tackles all over the pitch. First one gave them their goal. Passing awful. Rubbish
Lee 7 - Another good performance. Our player of the season so far
Wallace 6 - Not enough quality on his crosses
Bannan 6 - Works hard and can pick a pass. Tired badly in the second half. Think he'll be ok.
Forrestieri 7 - Looks class, worked excellently in partnership with Nuhiu. A few long range efforts. Certainly makes the opposition defence think and is going to become a star.
Nuhiu 9 - Awesome performance to be honest. If we could capture this every week we'd have a class act. Looks like he will benefit from having Forestieri as his partner and Pudil and Bannan should be able to pick him out if he keeps getting in the right position.
All in all we simply weren't good enough defensively or in the centre of the pitch. Semedo needs to come in to add stability alongside Lee. Matias for Wallace, Palmer for Hunt and Turner for Lees would be my other changes for Bolton. Westwood will be a massive boost when he returns.
Team v Bolton
Wildsmith or Westwood if fit
Hunt
Turner
Loovens
Pudil
Semedo
Lee
Matias
Forestieri
Bannan
Nuhiu
GK, Lees, Palmer, Magugan, Lopez, Wallace, Joao.
If Hutchinson's passing was so awful, how come he is the first Wednesday player for almost two seasons to play 90 minutes and get a pass completion rate of over 93% yesterday?
I wouldn't blame Palmer at all for the first goal & thought he was given a terrible pass to put him under pressure for the third. while he wasn't blameless, Gray deserves credit for chasing it down but the ricochet was incredibly lucky for them.
The two errors that cost us the match were the miss by Nuhiu & the error by Loovens - a shame because otherwise, both played well. Unfortunately, it is these moments that determine the difference between winners & losers.

Sean dyche said for 70 mins we matched them, if not played better but the last 20 mins they got control and took their chances. Is that a fair assessment?

Hutchinson may have a 90% pass completion but -
a) I don't think that site is wholly accurate.
b) The vast majority of those were sideways or backwards and often killed our attacking incentive.
He was completely at fault for the first goal with a ridiculous, headless chicken tackle that he didn't need to make. Forestieri must be a dream for a central midfield player with his runs and movement to create space for himself. Lee was the only one to find him on a consistent basis. He has ability and is a class player at times but he needs to grow up and develop his footballing brain a little.

In many ways I agree.
Hutchinson could have a great career & become a PL player again if:
1) He accepts the limitations of his injuries
2) He only plays once per week
3) He learns to stay on his feet better & not throw himself into challenges
4) Understands that his primary role is to shield the CBs
However, while the challenge was stupid, it was a free kick 25 yards out. The execution of the free kick was brilliant. Sometime errors are punished; sometimes they are not.
Lee is establishing himself in the side as much as anyone.

The problem with Hutch is that he tends to cost the team more than he brings to it.
There's a mandatory yellow to go with that free kick 25yrds out, EVERY game he plays. All the opposition manager needs to say is run at Hutch in a mazy dribble and he'll two foot chop you down. hey presto! Free kick!
Palmer was poor, he may have been left out to dry a little by other members of the defence, but that happens, and both times it happened to him it resulted in a goal. Not entirely his fault but he had a part in 2.
I'd sum the game up pretty much as Consilio did, his rating are about spot on to the game I saw yesterday, IMO.
We're not going to get relegated, and CC won't be canned until Xmas and that is if there's still problem at that time.
1 win from 6 is undeniably shit though, I don't care how much tiki taka we're playing. It's points that matter.
Megson had us playing some dire stuff at times, but we ground out points and held on to leads. We did that with Darren Potter in midfield so what's the problem?

Six league games and 4 yellows already.

Anybody else watching Leicester v Villa? Been a great game, fantastic advert for the prem and end to end stuff. More like an old English league game with hard tackles, 5 goals, a great comeback and very little interference from the ref!!

Looks like I was overly pessimistic. We scored a goal! In fact, we scored a very good goal. Unfortunately, last year's rock solid defence (bar the odd blip) is making some really bad mistakes at the moment and we are being punished.
Definitely need to get on track sooner rather than later. Ideally starting on Tuesday but next Saturday will do, but I won't be holding my breath! Still I'll be there on Saturday. For my sins.

Our rock solid defence stopped being "rock solid" from about last February when Loovens got injured.
This season, the back five has never been settled and Westwood's absence is hitting us hard.
