Well I have to say while its good to see England qualify and to see Rooney break the goalscoring record, I hate these international breaks!!!!  I miss the proper football on a Saturday and all that comes with that.

On paper this will be one of the hardest games we will have this season as newly relegated Burnley should be one of the favorites to go back up to the Prem.  Their start has been better than ours and they start this game in 9th position on 8 points.  While they lost some players from their prem team, they have spent some money to try to replace them and paid a record 9m on Andre Gray from Brentford and also added Joey Barton from QPR.  Their current top scorer is CH Michael Keane, so I assume they are good from set pieces, something I hope we have worked on!!!

We  have played exactly 100 games against Burnley and have W39, D19, L42, so honours are pretty even.  Since 2000 we have a record of W7,  D6, L6, so agfain very even.  But if you look at our last 10 visits to Turf Moor it presents a very different story - P10, W5, D4, L1, so we have a great recent record at their place!!  That run includes our fabulous 7-2 win there in April 2003, unfortunaltely we were still relegated a month later!!  Here is the video of our last match there in the League Cup last season:

THE LAST MATCH

Wasn't around for the last game and missed virtually all the build up and the aftermath, so lets leave it at that!!!!

FUNNY COMMENT FROM LAST MATCH THREAD

Quote from Consilio in response to Thurny whining!!!

"Typical whinging students. Want everything done for them but never want to do anything themselves."

So true!!!

OUR TEAM

So we added three more potential first teamers during the end of the transfer window.  I expect Forestieri to definitely play but would also like to see Pudil come in at LB as well.  Bannan I think will be on the bench.  Biggest question is what formation will CC play now we have Fernando??  Whatever he chooses I expect to see FF playing just behind the main striker (who we failed to get in in the transfer record) so maybe something like a 4231 formation??

The following is my prediction for the opening line-up:

Westwood

Hunt  Sasso  Lees  Pudil

Lee  Hutchinson

McGugan  Forestieri  Matias

Nuhiu

But I think we could probably all name a different line-up with so many options now available to CC.

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Hutchinson - Lopez - Bannan
Matias - Forestieri
Joao

Subs: Price, Helan, Sasso, Lee, McGugan, Sougou, Nuhiu

1-1 Forestieri

The Bastard in the Black is Stephen Martin.

Our record with this clown is:

Feb 15 - OWLS 2-0 Middlesbrough - 3Y
Dec 14 - Blackburn 1-2 OWLS - 1Y
Mar 14 - OWLS 4-1 Birmingham - 2Y

so he is a 100% winner for us.

Leon Clarke showed that game what he could have been. He was totally unplayable & ripped Burnley apart. Sadly, he never played like that again.
they went up that year as well didnt they?
3-1 Fernando

I don't know if it's my natural pessimism but I'm actually really worried about our season at the moment. I can't say I've seen anything to suggest we're a better team than last year and, apart from the Bristol City match, I've been as bored by our play as I was last season!

So, here goes :-

0 - 2 (I don't expect us to score, so no scorer)

HHHHH

Get in the Muppet League, Jacko, you're sh*t, aah!
1-2 Nuhiu
