Could we be kicked out of the FA Cup?
#11
Turner was the one who alerted the FA to this, so kudos to him for that bit of honesty, but the sad thing is that no one at the club spotted this before the game started!! Makes you wonder how they discovered it after?? Without looking, did he play in the game or was he on the bench??

Margreitter played because he was the only Chesterfield player to receive a booking in the game.

Turner is Chief Executive. Chief of our zero other executives. He alerted everyone he'd closed the door after he'd let the horse bolt. And he's probably cost the club more than his own inflated salary.

Don't see how that merits plaudits. But he made a career out of going down late in goal too.

We're out, even if Sepp Blatter hears the case. But Scunny away? What a reward for knocking the best team in the competition out. Appropriate reward for MKD though: Scunthorpe has always reminded me of a 0-1 home defeat.

£27k we got for winning against MK Dons and would have got £67k if we won the 3rd round. Looks like we will have to give the £27k back to the FA and MK Dons get a glamour tie away at Scunny or Worcester, unless Scunny or Worcester get a bye into the 4th round. We may get a slap on the wrist with a fine or play the MK Dons match again but I can't see it somehow, the FA hate Chesterfield. You would have thought when this happened to us back in 2008/09 with the Droyslden saga we wouldn't be so ******* careless.

If we do get kicked out which at this moment in time looks inevitable then heads must roll.

Other fans from other teams are making up **** saying that Margreitter's loan was up when it wasn't.

I've read that apparently Wolves didn't send any paperwork to Chesterfield to be signed to then be sent off to the FA. So who is to blame Wolves or us?

I would assume it is incumbent on the team the player plays for to make sure all the necessary paperwork is on time and up to date, so I am not sure Turner can use that in his defence!! In reality someone at Wolves and someone at Chesterfield screwed up, but I would imagine its you guys who will take the fall!!

Yeah we will take the fall for it, I just can't see us being allowed to carry on in the cup. I wonder what would happen if it was a Premier League team? slap on the wrist? a fine?

I think the rules are fairly well defined with this one and there seems to be no wriggle room in terms of the punishment!! This is the same rule with regards to Celtic being allowed back into the CL earlier this season when Legia Warsaw fielded an ineligible player.

You are right though, it would be interesting to see what would happen if say Man City did this. I suppose its highly likely that they have personnel solely dedicated to this type of player HR, whereas most teams outside the Prem probably have a guy wearing many hats who has the responsibility!! The chances of a mistake being made by them is greatly reduced if this is the case!!

Here is a precedent that could give you some hope!!

I suppose it now all depends on the timeline and circumstances that led to the paperwork not being filed in time!! Are Wolves backing your case that the player could play like Newcastle did in the Bradford case?

Droylsden and Bury were knocked out for it but Droylsden did play a player who was suspended.

Gainsborough Trinity were knocked out for not getting the paperwork in on time for a loan player
