Gareth Barry is unavailable for selection tomorrow. Jonny Evans is also a doubt with a virus - he's been sick the past few days. Daniel Sturridge is now out until after the international break #wba

I've misplaced the details, but I think it's Alec Jackson on the ball, in the background I reckon that's the old unroofed Brummie Road, and from the weather it's probably late season, maybe April or May 1961, 62, 63 at a push?
For anyone bothered, I've found the details: it *is* Alec Jackson, but the game was 5th September 1959, and Albion won 5-0.

Most pundits from what I can see so far have written us off and think we're onto a hiding tomorrow; I think we're due another win against these lot personally.
Two very big games tomorrow with Huddersfield v Swansea & Newcastle v Southampton... Could do with two home wins there to keep Swansea & Southampton in the pack with us, Stoke & Palace.
Hard to imagine anything other than relegation but a win and some other results going in our favour for a change... what a difference that would make!
I think results went more than our way last week SM except one crucial one....? Yes. Ours. We effed it up again when we could have been on 23 4 from safety 2 wins from climbing out possibly. Personally I've lost hope. We are tragic and I can't see it changing overnight C'est la vie.

It is indeed, I was lucky enough to meet up with Alec several times in the 70's when he had finished with football and went into the illustrious job of working on the track at Longbridge with my uncle. Wonder how many top level footballers would have to go into that type of job today?

What a desperate performance and result. I assume that we'll sack Paredew when it's mathematically true that we cannot stay up so that he could not possibly claim he has been denied his "keep them up" bonus. Pleased to see he played Burke but disappointed that he dropped Rodriguez and kept in Phillips. Like everyone on this site, I just want this embarrassing season to be over. I'm not sure how the manager and the players can, in all honesty, accept their inflated wages. Does anyone think we'll win another game this season or have we now assumed the mantle as the team against whom all others fill their boots?
