1 promotion and 2 relegations. It's not exactly great is it? He did well at Wigan because a lot of those players in L1 were Championship players plus he had a good budget.

Yes true, but that first relegation with Wigan would not be blamed on him as he only had 5 games left to save them and he did get them promoted irrespective of whose players they were. If we go down the road of saying that Wigan got promoted irrespective of his efforts then why not simply do away with managers?? Man City are top of the PL because they have much better players than the rest, but I am sure we would all give Pep huge credit for their season so far.

Not saying he is any good, just trying to answer Dev's question about what his CV will say with regards to his managerial career when he sits down with a Chairman at a football club. He has a resume that has events and periods that are completely spinnable either way in an interview situation.

I'm reckoning three wins in total, despite having had a transfer window to re-model first go, and an entire summer to build a new squad that went out and repeated the failings of the old squad is going to outweigh the snappy suit and the Scottish accent.

I can spin most things, especially in writing, but GC's promotion cost millions to top rivals who spent the odd thousand, but when his improved team got up, despite more summer purchases, they won 2 out 12. His first relegation was hapless inexperience, but if any Chairman examines his second, he's screwed. He turned a poor Division One side into the worst team in the country in a few weeks. It took suineg.

He should remain silent at interview on grounds that he might incriminate himself.
