Dire stuff from Hibs. We deserve to lose, no matter what the end result is.

2-2 and three words to utter that most definitely affected Hibs tonight - 'the Fontaine injury'!! We were fine until that moment when Fonts forced off the park. Bartley ushered in to the CH position by Lenny and a sudden imbalance appeared between mid and back four with Rocky ending up with the MOTM award with a terrific display of goalkeeping in a very open game. I've previously debated our CH predicament and the weakness has been exposed by Fontaine's expected injury - unluckily lost Forster, Hanlon and now it's Fonts - same position hammered and do we now need emergency cover? Also Fyvie recovering from the debilitating effects of the 'vomiting bug'. As for John McGinn, I don't believe he has reached full match fitness yet, following his op, and we'd be expecting a great deal following a high energy match v Hearts. Hence, looking positively at this draw, we've lost no ground at the top of the Championship, Marciano's terrific display has boosted my confidence in Hibs eventually pushing on to lifting the Championship title. My main concern is the frailty of our CH position due to ill luck on a position that was reasonably well covered!!

70 minutes of being second best and lucky to get a point. Pars should have won 4 or 5 : 2.
We cannot cope with being pressed high up the pitch......second to everything. Well done Pars for giving it a real go, you deserved to win. Down to 1 central defender now? Should still have been able to cope better than we did, especially in the middle of the park......some of super John's passing was dire......and as for..... Unimportant cup run having an effect just as I thought.......looking tired after Wednesday. I suppose the glass half full guys will be on saying that the chasing group failed to win also........true but promotion was the priority and if we do get caught we will look back on games like this and the previous two at least and see where we failed. Mind you , the ref gave us f*ck all.

He made a couple of good saves and got lucky on at least two others. Will probably feel he might have done better on their second having seen the replay.

Thats 3 games now where we have dropped points to sides in the lower half of the league when we should be kicking on and pressing home our advantage. Really pissed off but not surprised. This is a team that can raise themselves for the big games but can't do it consistently in the bread and butter games.
Barring the first 20 mins and the last 10 we were hopeless today. When fonts went off injured we seemed to lose our shape completely. At places after half time i thought the team looked dead on its feet. Full credit to dunfermline who played some smashing fitba and barring some great reaction saves from marciano should well have taken all 3 points. Mcginn in particular had a nightmare the night. Beaton was abysmal too, frequently ignoring the rules of the fricking game. A pars player raised his hands to fyvie - thats a red. The pars player that went to the crowd after the goal - thats a yellow card. Gray won the ball clearly on the edge of the box - free kick to dunfermline. Being positive i guess you can say we are one game closer to the finish line and we still have a decent advantage. But jeezo we are making way too hard a job of this.
Oh aye! Forgot to mention our captain, David Gray, re that all important first Pars' goal - 2-0 up and hold what we have and what a f###### needless gaffe to let them in!!!!! Definitely deserves the criticism in such a bread n butter situation!

Aye - from where i was the pitch didn't look too great either tonight 0762,i wonder if it was just a bad bounce that caught him.
I have to say we are having some awful luck with injuries.....Another positive is that Young crane did very well when he came on allowing us to push bartley up the field. I can see him maybe getting some more game time. (25-02-2017, 22:42)newhavenhibby Wrote: He made a couple of good saves and got lucky on at least two others. Glad you brought that incident up yes the Fontaine injury fkd us up big time but HFC where cruising at 2-0 up started really well scored two good goals and HFC where on easy street Then David Gray made that massive gaffe and let them back into the game. As for John McGinn he seemed to be somewhere else today did not make a pass all day but in fairness he's a quality player maybe HFC depend on him to much but Rocky deserves a special mention he was in great form today. At the end of the day HFC are still 7 points clear I'm prepared to give them the benefit after Wednesdays performance I'm sure the manager won't tho ![]()

I think Lenny is restricted in rotating players at the mo and that is due to the effect of injuries and player availability. McGinn falls into that 'rotation category' and would normally be given a deserved rest after his sterling efforts on Wed night. Sadly he's got another injury to deal with - doesn't make the task any easier!
