I must say that Boyle's occasional anonymity seems to be centred on him drifting away from the role/position that has been given to him by the manager. He definitely has the pace to damage opposition defences but doesn't utilise it enough.

same team as last week with cummings in for keats would be my guess. If so cummings better deliver 'the goods'.

It's a great opp to redeem himself if he's given a 'start' by Lennon!

Never a better time for Cummings to have a good game, score and put the doubters onto the back foot.

Lennon springs a surprise and Boyle start instead of Cummings.

The most important thing is the 3 points although the performance left a lot to be desired. However I won't dwell on the down sides as we continue to maintain our position at the top. The Dundee United game is shaping up to be a real crunch game in a couple of weeks or so.
Boyle was excellent down the middle and his pace caused Saints problems all afternoon. Shinnies through ball to him for the opener was superb. Boyle thoroughly deserved his MotM award. ![]() Missed Keatings dead ball strikes today as some of our corner and free kicks were dire. ![]() If only we could finish..........fortunately they missed a glorious chance in the first minute to go one up so perhaps its catching...........still have my doubts about the goalkeeper..........but onto next week and another battle awaits. Thought the score line flatters st midden TBO. Their keeper had three decent saves one from Boyle another from the pen (not the best I've seen FI big holt) and finally from Shinnie we won 2-0 but easy could & should have been 5.
Delighted for Boyle he changed the game last week with his pace and today he never stopped running all day scored his goal to prove Lennon was correct to start him and deserved his standing ovation at the end when Lennon rightly subbed him for Harris to let the fans show their appreciation for a great days work. Agreed Bounce we could have scored more as the game got stretched but that was bound to happen as they tried to get back into it ........if only we could finish

Their keeper and some frustrating finishing kept the score down. st mirren actually played ok on the break, moved the ball around well and i like the boy mallan.
Our front 3 did very well though, especially boyle who ran himself into the ground. cummings might find himself on the bench for a while longer. I think lennon has opted to show him who's boss. I think this team has got more in them, and hopefully as the season goes on that will show. We smacked them around a bit today even if the scoreline doesn't really look like it.

I was talking to my son about that today Newhavenhibby I honestly think Neil Lennon is playing a clever game at the moment not only is he playing the likes of Boyle & Graham to get them match fit he dropped Jason but I think Lennon is resting him for him to come out the traps v Falkirk -Qos - Dundee Utd in the coming weeks I might be totally wrong with that assessment but time will tell
