Would we want uncle Woy back ?
really ........... ? Just like going out of the frying pan into the fire  Remember this is the guy who let Harry Kane take corners at the Euro's.... Come on guys !

Don't remember anyone criticising Hodgson then and 10th place would only be a dream with Pulis. Of course if you want to go back to a previous manager you should have gone for RDM, his win percentage with you guys was the best since Ardiles was your manager!!! Comparing Hodgson's and Pulis' time at WBA sees their % a bit closer than their total career, but neither look that good with both under 40% win ratio, although Pulis' no loss % is better than Hodgson's was. Hodgson is now 68 years old though, and I wonder if that is too old for the PL these days most of the time.

If Pulis was to go or be let go, then Roy would be purely a stop gap until the new ownership has reviewed and approached a new manager. One month, three months. No more than the season.

I wouldn't want him back.
His style is very similar to Pulis', so what is the appeal? We barely ever won a game at home under Roy and that was with a better, younger squad than we have now. A squad that included players with pace and skill like Odemwingie, Jerome Thomas, Tchoyi and Shane Long... I don't think he'd do much with the set of players we have at our disposal now. For me, the squad is as dour as it has been for a long time, with lots of our players in the twilight of their careers.

His win ratio was good because he inherited a really good Championship side and you had to be a clown not to walk the league with those players. He made some ridiculous decisions along the way, such as persisting with a misfiring Luke Moore but still got away with it because some of the other players were that good. That's the thing about win %'s... it doesn't always tell the story. When you watched us every week under RDM it was clear to see he didn't have a clue. Although, his dull negative style did get Chelsea a champions league win... it's a funny game. |
