Could Roy Hodgson return? - Stairs - 06-09-2016 The Mirror says that Albion have checked out Roy to see if he would be willing to return to the club should they part with Tony Pulis. It is likely to be cheap journalism as he is already linked with us and is available. But of course it does make some sense. I just hope the ownership issue is resolved soon and if the manager is to be changed then the sooner the better. As always West Brom take the difficult route in change never the easy one (story of my life as well). RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - talkSAFT - 07-09-2016 I'd be happy to have Roy for a couple of years. RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - May68 - 07-09-2016 I'd take him back in an instant. The football under Hodgson was quite dour at times, but it was samba football compared to what we're expected to watch now. He might be a good transition back to a more palatable style of play. RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - tidy - 07-09-2016 I would go against popular opinion here. Hodgson is a dinosaur and should never be allowed near the Albion again. How much more evidence do people need having watched the shambles that was the World Cup 2014 and the Euros 2016? Please, everyone, move on... ![]() RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - Stathemwasthebestever - 07-09-2016 Please, please come back Roy. Yep, I'd like someone more progressive but Roy is light years ahead of what we have now. RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - Worldclassalbion - 07-09-2016 I'd have him back.......Yes we were poor in Euro finals but won 10/10 in qualifying, Englands best qualifying for a tournement EVER. To be honest a tin of Pineapple chunks would be a progression on Pulis. I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison. Playing in the Premier League with mainly average players... ...and playing the likes of Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino with the best players the Country can offer. Roy done us good at the time (well, except at home where he created a club record for home losses, 10) and kept us in the Prem, something we are all grateful for but let's not kid ourselves that his brand of football was any better than Pulis's currently is. RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - talkSAFT - 07-09-2016 Roy's brand of football was nowhere near as awful as Pulis', and the FA would never have considered Pulis for the England job. Roy's brand wasn't great, but the fans have never been so bored as this season and last. We've become embarrassing, and Stoke fans felt the same after a couple of years of gruesome medicine. RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - BaggieMan - 07-09-2016 I'd have Uncle Roy back in a heart beat! Compared with the dross endured now under Pulis, Roy would be magnificent. Please dear Lord, let it happen! (I would renew my season ticket if the footballing anti-Christ was shown the door!) RE: Could Roy Hodgson return? - BaggieMan - 07-09-2016 Roy Hodgson received only a tiny fraction of the criticism that Pulis gets, and in my opinion, deserves. Following a dismal run under RDM, Roy guided us to 10th finishing place in 2011/12 season - a feat of which Pulis can only dream. Pulis Out - Hodgson In |
