Can i just say that for several years, North Ferriby United were my second team so I would often venture down to their matches when Wednesday had no match due to International weeks as I lived in the next village. I once got into a row with Ron Futcher there, who was manager of Ashton United, after I abused his team too much & kept banging on the roof of his dug out.

Incidentally, North Ferriby is where David Hirst first pulled on a Wednesday shirt. Wednesday had a friendly arranged there on the day that Sgt Wilko signed him. The team coach had arrived already but Hirsty arrived in Wilko's car and played the opening 45 minutes. Cannot remember much about the match except that my wife (Fiancee then) spent the whole second half chatting to Siggi Jonsson and looking for excuses to touch him.

Don't think this gives me much of an advantage but at least I can visualise the ground even if I am garbage at crowd predictions.

Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.

A couple of thoughts ahead of today's game.

1) It has been noticeable that referees are being more lenient regarding red card challenges and giving penalties in games involving the top six teams in SBC in recent weeks. It appears that they have been told that they don't want promotion decided by a red card or penalty. I have counted six red card offences and five penalty offences ignored by referees in the last five live TV matches.

2) CC's aim is promotion NOT the playoffs, which are just a last chance saloon for teams that failed to get automatic promotion. Part of what is required is to get the team in the best possible shape to win the playoffs. This means that getting Hooper firing in the next two matches could be very important if we are looking to win the playoffs.
